Realise there is one last qualifier this weekend but just wondered if there is a list anywhere or please mods could one be started showing the finalists by breed? It would be lovely to see who is going to be there. Thanks.

That's interesting - it's not that even across the breeds if that's the complete list (apart from this weekend). I admit I haven't particularly been following the Olympia qualifiers apart from the two people I know - (well done to them!)
There's a lot more large breed than small - 12 vs 27 (bear in mind I'm dyslexic with numbers so don't' shout if I've added up wrong!) and not very even between the breeds either. I know there are fewer small than large breeds but even so it definitely seems to be certain breeds are more popular/frequent?
How does the judging/class work at Olympia now? Are they all in together or split between breeds? Sorry clueless but would be interested to know.
Thanks.

This list does inlcude this weekend. Thanks exb for the updated list. I hadn't realised the BSPS have got a profile on their website of those who have qualified and will be adding the semi finalist winners and breed section winners from the weekend so that is nice to look through.

EP, it's because 2 go through in the semi final at the heritage champs, then 1 from the breed class at the Heritage, then the Champion at a small number of county shows go through. Think there's still a qualifier at countryside live. I know Newoak Furios qualified at Kent & not the Heritage.

We all know who the Shetland best of breed winner will be this year.

No different to any other year though - only ever one guaranteed place for each breed at the breed show - rest of the time you have to fight it out against the other breeds

Can't imagine how they are going to get 40 ponies in that ring at the same time.it's tight with the 32 NPS had.

Ha havent been for years so havent seen how tight it is! glad I'm on a gelding though. There is only 4 more ponies though - Q) How will the new competition work that will enable you to meet the objectives of a more equitable split of ponies qualifying and will more ponies be able to qualify? A) The BSPS are delighted that Olympia have agreed to an increase of 4 ponies going to the finals taking the numbers from 36 to 40.....
Might be a tight squeeze with most of them being biggies though ;-)

think theres a few missing from the A's and B's im sure there should be 4 from those sections .. and clobo's right its exactly same before with the breeds. And just to correct snowflake its 3 that qualify in the semi's

Number of As and Bs should be correct - the semi final was a joint A and B class therefore only 3 of either A or B qualified (1A and 2Bs) + 1 per breed class whereas the Cs and Ds had separate semi finals, ensuring 3C's and 3 Ds, + 1 each from the breed class as well qualified.
I thought the most interesting was the classes the ponies came from which qualified at the 9 straight qualifying shows, from the 6 classes (DES, A+B, Cs, Ds, Con/NF and HDF) 6 came from the HDF classes (3 Highland, 2 Dales, 1 fell), 1 DES (Dartie) and 1 Con/NF (connie) and 1 D

Hache 3 sorry! Didn't know if was 2 or 3. I suppose the idea of Olympia is the best of breeds in the whole of the country compete Although, I think the idea of 3 from each breed qualifying (like NPS did... have 36 forward) is a much better idea. Good luck to everyone competing though!

Haven't managed to go out and get this week H&H but does anyone know if they have included pictures of all the ponies that qualified at the heritage champs ?

Unfortunately not! David the H&H photographer said to me up there he wasn't sure how on earth they could fit it all in as only 2 pages of editorial and half a page is given over to 'comments' on the new system. Nice piccy of Raven and Neffy though. I guess what they might do is a feature on all the qualifiers later as they will have pictures of them all - which would be nice. On another note found the comments interesting and as much as I have the utmost respect for Sam Roberts as a producer and rider I sincerely hope they don't change the rules to allow riders to ride more than one in the finals - not sure how that would work but I would predict now it will then just be a class of producers. By the way BSPS have features and pictures of all those qualified on their web page under results.

Yes apologies they haven't fully updated it yet, but I know that those who qualified last weekend have been asked to send in pictures and a small resume so I guess they will be adding to the list.
