someone must know what to do.In showing season a friend gave daughter passports 4 his ponies.as she entered the shows and needed details,he stupidly let her put ponies in her name on passport. Now he needs to cut down so has sold a pony.she refused to hand over passport til she got the money for the pony.He pays for all the feed bedding etc.what to do?She wont hand passports or the money back.

More fool him I'm afraid! If he allowed her to transfer passports into her name(he must have signed them) he has effectively given them to her and he hasn't a leg to stand on. She sounds a proper little madam and maybe should have had her bottom smacked years ago! In the meantime if she is insisting on being the "owner" he should make sure she pays for them or invoice her. She sounds a little toad!!

I agree kayjayem.Toad is polite name for her.he didnt sign the passport. So she signed as new owner when ponies were bought.darent give her name as hes more than upset now.So more hassle wouldnt be good.Could start a new thread.IS THIS WHAT A DAUGHTER SHOULD DO?

If she is saying that when she put the ponies in her name they then belonged to her, he should give her an invoice for all the costs he has paid since that date.

Fraud & theft - police will probably say its a civil matter though.
Otherwise he needs to kick her out & cut her off! Presume they are on his yard? No more paying for anything. Change the locks so she cant get access?! Hard faced but might be the only way. However if the law supports her owning them then he needs to call her bluff and give her notice to remove them, once they become a financial liability rather than an asset she might not be so keen to 'own' them....
