I know this has been said loads of times, but it is SO frustrating when someone posts a wanted ad and asks to be PM'd with info, then doesn't respond to the PM. I know you probably get swamped, in which case a general post to say -thanks, now found or something similar, or a quick - thanks not quite what we wanted is all that's needed. Rant over! Thanks for reading!

I know exactly where you are coming from, but recently I have seen people respond to wanted adds dated from Feb? ? Although a quick thanks but no thanks doesn't take a minute

I agree, a quick, "Thanks but no thanks!" would be fine! Also, why don`t people put when they have found what they are looking for, or if they`ve decided not to go down that route now? It`s so frustrating to see ad`s placed months ago and people reply thinking they have a chance of placing their horse or pony when in reality the OP`s aren`t even looking any more! I commend those who do post when they`ve found what they want, but BOOOO to those who don`t! ;-) Rant over! :-)

I have replied to someone selling something on here, I have pm'd them twice, giving my email address, and had no reply, could only assume they no longer wanted to sell, then the advert was bumped up the list. It's a bit strange considering it was an expensive item, you would think they would be glad to have someone interested in buying.

i quite agree , it takes two seconds to post a quick thank you , had it myself this week ,took the time to pm a wanted ad , ,why bother to put in an ad if you are not going to even acknowledge a pm , moan over sx

If you don't want any replies, just go to your original thread and change the subject of the first post to "FOUND", "SOLD" or "NO LONGER AVAILABLE" then people will know straight away that the ad isn't relevant any more. Also the mods can see that it's not relevant and lock it.

If you don't amend your own post or PM a mod asking for it to be locked they maybe won't just come across your request.

Thats absolutely right, we cant be expected to open every single thread and read through it to make sure somebody hasnt added "now sold please lock" onto the end. Please change your title as suggested and it will be picked up on. Or pm one of the mods for that board- bearing in mind that its a busy time for everybody at the moment, thanks.

i seem to have mug written over my fore head , apart from the other rug that i moaned about , im still waiting for a rug that i said i would have from back in mid december ,!!!! the seller has come up with all manner of excusses and im too soft to make a fuss , but why oh why advertise something if you are not going to be able to send it for one reason or another , the other thing that has bugged me this week , is advertisers no responding to pm's even though they hve stressed that they wish to have replies , and then they dont reply , and also why some hg's seem to think that p+p can almost out weigh the price of the goods , i turned down 2 very small rugs this week as sender wanted £4.50 p+p for each rug , not even nz's , fleeces , out of principle i will not pay , -----i sent 2 nz's just before xmas for £6.00 , ok its only a couplof quid but thats not the point , !!!! rant over !!!!!!
