It is with great sadness that I need to inform you all that Mr Tony Dampier sadly passed away this morning following a riding accident yesterday.
He was a great horseman who lived live to the full and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our thoughts and sympathies go to his family and this devastating time.
RIP Tony Dampier.
The family have asked me to inform you all and I will update you when i am aware of his funeral arrangements.

I had the pleasure of knowing Tony for most of his life. He was always the perfect gentleman. In all of the time I knew him I can not recall him ever doing a nasty deed to anyone. He loved his horses and he loved life. The world and particularly the horse world is a poorer place without him. RIP Tony xx

Oh that is so sad, was taught to ride by Barbara and Tony at the tender age of 4, will always remember him and his fab Lippizana stallion which he had at the riding stables and which was strictly off limits to nosey little people (me!) hanging around, please let us know when and where the funeral is, my thoughts are with his family

How very very sad, Tony was a true classical rider and the world of horses and horsemanship will be a lesser place without him in it. RIP Tony

victorianicola- thanks I will keep an eye out for your update
bevcal- If it was Favori Mara then you must have ridden there when I did. (1966 - 1974ish) Mara was beautiful, even if a little quirky in the stable .

Thanks vicroriancola I was panic stricken when I thought I had missed the funeral. Do understand about an inquest. chocaholic I too was around in 1966 - 1974 - funny old world ! I remember Favori Mara well but would not have recalled the name if you hadn't prompted it.
