cookies if you make it to the end Were do i start.... Someone text me to ask about my horse for sale, got an impression it was a child with nothing better to do but i went along with it, asked did they have experience with young horses, yes 18 years experience, great! Googled her number as i always do, noticed an add from her after a loan with view to buy and saying it needs to be 100% on roads. She then calls me and i explain its not broken so has never been on the roads (add did say she is LIGHTLY backed) and i told her the mare is for sale NOT for loan, so she said yeah that's fine at the time i was looking for loan but I'm now looking to buy (her wanted ad was only posted a week or so ago). She went on to tell me she had tried a few horses and they were nutters, i said well my mare is going to need alot of work and asked her did she want something broken, she said no i want to break it myself and put my own stamp on it. Arranged a viewing, 15 Min's before shes due she calls me, chats on about why she cant make it, she might be late or she might just come tomorrow, 'oh and is there any were i can ride her' Explained to her its unbroken! Said thank you for your time and hung up. Just got a voice mail followed by a text asking 'can i come view your mare tomorrow'. Again i goggled the number and it was the same girl!!! She must think I'm totally stupid! I text back haven't i just spoken to you. Takes a while to text back 'yeah but i have spoken to a friend she is going to help me school her'. What an absolutely NUMPTY. To make me even more angry someone (genuine) was coming for a 2ND viewing on Saturday but is now not coming cos she thought she would of been sold tonight! I'm not asking a fortune for my mare, she is a 'project'. I'm sooooooooooo peed off!

We have a pony for loan to stay on the yard. A girl was due to come last tues but txt on day to say her dad had a cold and couldnt come. Should have come on friday and just didnt turn up. Txt today to ask to come again and we said no as she could not even commit to coming and viewing the pony. I got the most offensive and nasty message back saying it wasnt her fault and i can stuff my pony where the sun dont shine. Sorry you stupid girl but it was a free loan so i was doing you the favour... Rant over !!

I had the same problem with Will, Jenna. I told them he was lightly backed and they couldnt understand why they could just get on and ride him.
Hope you find her a lovely home soon.

We sold our 4 year old shetland pony who we stressed was unbroken, tagged in a photograph on Facebook 3 days later "*****'s First riding lesson" !!!!!!!!! Child concerned is 2! Phoned a week later and told the pony was not quite as steady as we would like!!! Its a miracle she was as good as she was!

I had someone text me asking would I be interested on loaning..... I said if they were local I would consider a short loan with view to buy. Then text back to say how long would I allow the loan to which I replied a month. Messaged me back to say it wasn't long enough, but I could come and view the yard and they would get him professionally backed! Now I don't want somebody else backing him when he belongs to me, and say they b****r him up and fire him back. Selling horses is very frustrating and I have had my fair share of time wasters

How annoying the amount of timewasters I had when selling my show pony was unreal, people emailing/calling saying they will contact again to view, saying they're coming then not turning up, asking to see him ridden at a show so paid entries and arranged to go only to never hear off them again! What a nightmare. So for the future, I will have a strict policy, I will put all relevant info/record and photos on add, if they are interested-call, if they wish to view, tell me within 48 hrs of contacting me, if they view and like what they see, leave a 20% cash deposit there and then, pick up within a 14 days or you loose the deposit and pony goes back on the market. Same goes for buying too! It sounds super strict and of course there will be some flexibility but I really am through with time wasters!! They're the worst thing ever.

doesn't sound strict to me at all! if you're looking to buy a pony then thats what you do, i can't stand people who faff about over things and completely waste your time! we've had a number of people come up to ride my fell as im backing my youngster, they come up a few times then suddenly stop coming up saying they need to concentrate on their own, completely fair enough but then why say you'll come and ride him in the first place? argh!

LOL the joys of selling, i had one of this years foals advertised, Shetland x, only asking £200 for her and a woman from Glasgow phoned me up asking about buying her, said i would accept a deposit and hold her, she said she had to wait for her benefits money to come in the following week so i said no problem had several txts off her but the day money was meant to come in no sign. 4 weeks later had a tx asking which foal was i selling!!! She obviously was just ringing people up for a chat, wouldnt have minded too much but with my Welsh accent and her Glaswegian i just couldnt understand her!!

the cheek of some people well i think iv experienced YET another timewaster but im going to give her 1 more chance modified to add chance has gone, iv been taken for a fool yet again sanca after many texts emails and pms on here (which have been read)i take it you no longer want my horse. It takes 2 seconds to reply and tell me you have changed your mind, except you lead me to believe you were arranging transport and were calling to arrange payment (yesterday). To say im annoyed is an understatement. Looking at all her previous posts I would say she had no intention of buying!! All she seems to do is reply to horses for sale ads

i was selling a section c 3 year old not so long ago stated as an unbroken youngster who wasnt for a novice. a lady rang telling me she had many years experience with youngster foals colts ect. and it would be a pony for her daughter that she would do the work with her. explained the mare had only been sat on / lunged / with and without rider a handfull of times. they arrived and when i kept the daughter on the lunge whilst she had a walk and trot round on her, she then said right pop a little jump up and let her of the lunge!! PARDON?? i refused they then left sayying she must be unsafe.. if i wont allow her to try her off the lead to pop a small fence...... i was fuming to say the least....

timewasters arhhhh - i have had my fair share of these to in the past. But recently I the good hassle free buyers.
1. Called Wednesday, viewed and tried on the Saturday, was going to come back sunday with there instructor ( no a problem) , The drove off to the gate and handed me a deposit and then picked up on the tuesday. Great Sale and great home for the pony.
2. Rang on the friday lunchtime, arrived in the wagon friday night, pony sold with 15 mins! Same great sale and great family.
3. Messaged on Facebook between Christmas and New Year, could make it on the 29th as arrange due to illness ( genuine) , came today in the lorry after only calling yesterday, cash in the hand and off he went. Fantastic home aswell.
4. Phone call Monday, international transfer on Tuesday and he is off to France tomorrow :-( to a brilliant home.
I must be having a lucky streak at the moment - but at least the yard is quieter now and they all have fantastic homes.
I did have a situation a while ago when i sold a mare with like 4 hours of advertising her, and got the full amount paid into the bank, made arrangments to drop her off at her new home as i was going to a friend that way in the lorry, contribution for the diesel sorted, but the darn mare point blank refused to load and i was on my own so had no choice to leave her behind, explain to the purchaser what happen and they were ok and was fine and understood, well then the pony is still at home 4 WEEKS later with no word, emails, texts, voicemails the lot, whatever contacting methods you could think off i did to no response ! then once i threaten to re-sell her we had contact and the pony was gone in the week. Some people really are not all there!!!!!
So Jenna you are not alone in attracting weirdo and timewasters. Have you thought about entering her in a sale ( not beeston) like a performance sale ect...

Hope your friend wants her Jenna, I've seen your ad, your mare looks a nice sort, just the type I like, unfortunately I'm not in the market for another one, work and health are making me consider putting my two sec a's on loan. Good luck

It isn't fair on the seller to behave like that. We bought our younsgter in summer. Rang on Wednesday, viewed that evening, took father up on Thursday (They have to pass the "cuddle" test with him- he thinks it's his input, we think if it can put up with a strange man hanging round it's head, telling it how beautiful and nice it is - it's a good 'un) paid the deposit and collected and paid upfront on the Monday.
He's a lovely fella' and we often catch my father, who has no interest in the horses, giving him a sneaky kiss and cuddle.
