I think you can have DNA done to find out the % of arab blood, I'm sure somebody on here will know what you have to do.
What sort of level of showing were you thinking of? And have you any more pictures, perhaps a ridden one?

what a lovely boy! if he is anglo arab, you can tell the Arab Horse Society what you know about him - all of his markings and whorls, anything at all of his breeding, where he came from, age etc and they will probably find out who he is for you. And then get the papers for you.

You can do PUK Competition/sports classes (I/H & ridden)
Register with the NCPA & you can do NCPA Registered classes (ridden & I/H)
If animal exceeds 146cm you can do BSPS Intermediate classes.

Yea as Janet said you could do the Intermediate classes? You can also still do inhand and ridden part bred classes at riding club. Do you know his breeding at all even if you have no papers? As i bought my part bred rough and he was un-registered, i knew the breeding and after checking he was eligable part bred through the ahs, as they can work out the percentage i contacted the breeder through the ahs, sent them a letter and ahs forwarded it on and got her to sign off the registration forms and got him a ahs passport.

Hi Paigesummersgill thats a shame that you dont have any names of his pedigree, he is beautiful i might add. An anglo arab is half and half so he would be 50% thoroughbred 50% arab so he cant be a partbred anglo, however he more then likely to be a part bred or anglo. If you want to compete at county i would definately look at doing the bsps small intermediate show riding type class with him, the horse has to exceed 146cm but not 153cm and you have to be 25 or under as of that year. If you go on the bsps website under the rulebook you can get all the information. You could also do search for star class for show ponies and show hunters ponies, the horse is up to 153cm (15 hand) and the rider no older then 20, providing you are a amateur and the horse hasnt been produced. Hope this helps and good luck for the year

oh and i have never competed in the intermediates so not entirely sure what is entails, however i have briefly watched at cheshire etc and seems to be as any class, go around, individual show, strip them etc. The judge doesnt ride (correct me if i am wrong though) as havent paid that much attention to them. I will be doing the novice intermediate classes this year so i will prob watch a few first to get my bearings, have aso only shown a coloured and section A.

He's gorgeous! You can do BSPS & as Milliesmum said there may be somewhere where you can get his DNA tested - you could ring the AHS for more info. Good luck he's gorgeous.
