H/F/D Governor Of Whitefield Lizzie Briant on Queens fell Lovely fell not sure of name Heltondale Misty That's just teasing - anyone know who the 3rd placed Fell was? Well done Suzy and Forrest - he's a smashing pony and sure to qualify at some point.

Why dn't the Shetlands ever or rarely get mentioned o this forum? DO WE HIDE OUR LIGHT UNDER A BUSHEL? There are several good Setlands out there competing in HOYS and Olympias. My stallion, Cranford Hector is consistently placed but to date despite takng turns with the other top Shetlands to e highest placed is yet to get a ticket. Do we snivel? No we don't, Do we slag the judges ? No, we just know it's hard out there, whatever the breed and with the exception of the 'oompa loompas' most of our ponies are ridden brilliantly by 11 and 12 year olds.

Why dn't the Shetlands ever or rarely get mentioned o this forum? DO WE HIDE OUR LIGHT UNDER A BUSHEL? Why on earth are you complaining on this thread? This thread is about NPS Area 25 - did any shetlands take any of the top placings at this show? If not then maybe that's why no one has mentioned them. You really get my goat up with your constant trumpet blowing - shetlands aren't ignored on this forum, they get as much coverage as everyone else and if they've won a qualifier for something, then someone puts it. Only a few weeks back there were several posts congratulating Elizabeth saxon on piccolo for her qualification. Shetlands are no longer at a disadvantage in the ridden classes - quite the opposite in fact - you keep going on about your stallion being so close etc. well guess what - my friend has a very nice dales that has been top 5 in most of the qualifiers, and top dales in the majority of those. My other friend has an exmoor who's also been doing consistently well - should i start a post about them ravng about how wonderful they are??? Keep your wineing for your own website please - heaven knows it gets enough coverage in showing world and the like! I dont know what you're complaining about!

Well gh, I am quite sure that if your pony does well it will be mentioned on here, along with the other shetlands who have recently been mentioned - Southley Red Ember, Birchmoor Admiral, Ulverscroft Midnight Blue, Briar Piccolo. These have all been on here recently when winning there respective hoys or Olympia qualifiers.
As for calling small adults "oompa loompas" i think it is very rude and insulting

Sense of humour by pass or have I hit a nerve? For what it's worth, there's not a pony you mention we haven't topped (not been against Admiral) THAT is not the point. I Cheer them on, and promote them all without fear or favour on shetland-pony.com. Unlike so many on here (not all) my comments hold good regarding the snivelling and slagging off of judges. Ooompa loompa? LARGE ADULT ARE YOU? Get over yourself!

Until the above comment this thread was actually keeping to topic, the NPS 25 show. No rude comments or slating of the results either or judges(only one comment). Your post does not appear to have any relevance to this thread. I'm glad I don't own a shetland or have to move in the same circles as you gh as you sound like a spoilt child who if you aren't being spoken about or shetlands are spoken about you throw you toys out of the pram. Hopefully this will keep you happy for a while and as for the oompa loompa comment, why make such a stupid comment

I agree, no slagging on this particular thread, that makes a change. I merely asked the question. No one posted FOR EXAMPLE (unless i've missed it) that Southley Red Ember got the olympia at the Shetland performance show. Well done Debbie and Alice Barr. This is nothing to do with me, my pony or our success or lack of it. I have nothing more to say on this thread where probably it was posted in the wrong place, but no doubt someone will feel the need to say, 'good' or whatever.

If your pony has in fact "topped the above" then why have you not got an Olympia ticket.? As for oompa loompas, size should not come into it,so long as they are in proportion with the pony.

It would be nicer to see some more petite riders on shetlands be they adults or children, i know they can carry an adult but sometimes the picture isn't quite right however good the pony.

HOYS WHP Smalls Nicki Stephens on a grey pony! Middles Georgian Dorian so 2nd took ticket which was a New Forest Stallion very nice. Larges Jill Wormall Pebbly Dun Nicely Georgian Dorian Champ and cant remember reserve champ sorry There were some really nice smalls and I for one can,t understand how the winner got the ticket, NOW DON'T SHOUT ME DOWN ANYONE!!! but I understood that turn out should be part of the presentation and long boots are unacceptable in small workers and as N Stephens is a judge then an example should be set, to the smaller, younger exhibitors in the class, but here we go again the exhibitor seemed to have a "nice conversation" and a laugh with the judge Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm very strange. No, not sour grapes as we were pleased with the way ours went and accepted defeat gracefully. Girlie and Gee Gee nice to meet you today.!!! Lead Rein ticket Katie Carter under Bob Templeton !!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah and poor Stowbrook Snipe, when is he ever gonna get his ticket? Three 2nds in a row!!! Hes jumping really well so should be soon! Well done to Georgian Dorian, they,re having a great time! xx

Think some of those pictons have qualified for hoys, whats the ruling there ? think pictons should be kept for true novices to shine .....my baby pony has qualified this year ....but i will do intermediates/ olympias next year ..and not go pot hunting in Pictons ( in my opinion only )

I think you'll find that those in the picton with HOYS/OLYMPIA tickets started the season off as true babies (rules state not to have won an NPS open or qual for Picton or Intermediate before 1st Jan) but just happen to be well schooled well produced top class ponies and have been lucky enough to get their HOYS/Olympia tikets easily and before thier Picton ones.
Not everyone only does novices with their novices or has the chance to qualify for the right things in the right order.
Novice does NOT mean is not capable of doing more it simply means is new to this field of competition

Personally, I would not want to enter a 'baby' in big open classes, to me novice classes are meant to 'start ponies' in the first year or two of their showring career. Not critising anyone, just what we do

I agree with the above, some ponies come on much quicker then others, and if a pony is lucky enough to qualify for HOYS or Olympia in its first year or before it has its pictons tickets, why should they not do the class and get that ticket as well. From reading the posts on here I think a few ponies this year have got either a HOYS or an Olympia or indeed both and are still 'novices' in that this is their first year under saddle. It does not mean they are pot hunting.......by saying that are you are suggesting that the horses in pictons classes are less worthy when in actual fact they may be to young to do an Olympia or not quite ready for the opens, but certainly I have seen a few novices this year that are olympia standard ponies.

I was not aware you could get a Picton ticket after your Olympia ticket?
