I am just wondering what the significant difference is between Performance to Music and Dressage to Music?
....and how is it judged and scored?
I have an ex-hunter/graded showjumper who athe grand old age of 18, when he got a bit creaky! - learnt dressage. I'd really like to bring him to Equifest - he hasn't been to a big party for years! - and would like to enter the above but do it completely classically. top hat and tails and very smart. I'd love some pics of him all smart and twinkly alongside the mud monster flying huge hedges :-)
What do you all think? - does his test need to be more about quirky performance, than a classic dressage to music test? I was thinking about using the hunting horn and then some traditional HOYS showjumping music.
Could be a case of "last seen..." if he hears the horn though ;D
Or should we just do what I want :-) because at 20, he does most of the time anyway!!

Performance to music is more judged on costume (how it all fits together with music) the story and interpretation of music Dressage to music is more classical dressage x

Have a few questions about this class - When do you need your music starting from? Is it ok to have music playing before you enter the ring? Do you halt and salute at the start? What things do you include in the commentary? Do you have free rein on movements? Is here anything that must be included within the display?
