Aw that's really sad. Really feel for you.
It's a shame some people are just so ruthless and after making money off other peoples misfortune.

I would ring DEFRA, as to change his age they must have altered his passport in some way. I am assuming he had one, don't hang around either as they will do it to other people. Also trading standards may help as there is some legal come back if you can prove they are deliberately falsifying details in adverts. Good luck bring the £*!^*@>! down if nothing else!

def agree about the trading standards, but what about the references she supplied from vets, dentists etc? they could be fals in which case she could well be in trouble for that or if they were genuine then they should be contacted to let them know they are being duped as well and she is dragging their name sown. personally i would cause her as much grief as she is causing you! dont give up?

just a thought but have you contacted her to say why she has sold him 2 days later? and why 2 years younger? and basically why she duped you? if so what did she say?

sorry to keep posting! but its interesting that these are one and the same companies. equine tranquility T/A priceless ponies (or the other way round) i think you should pursue this matter and with urgency, something is not right and you need to go more public with it, i.e. press/ horse and hound etc. ect i know i certaily would.

I really feel for you. I would also be heartbroken. She is obviously a dealer... With a retirement livery!! I notice that she deals with euthanasia of old horses too. How would someone know for definite that she has pts their horse and not Just sold it on?! This is outrageous. If you are in a position to do so, I think I would be tempted to offer her the money back she paid, and quietly take the horse back (telling her that you know what she is doing), and maybe then we can all rally to get her looked into?!

I'm also not sure that the vets would tell you too much anyway. She is probably quite a good client having all those old horses on livery!

admin error? ?? What you buy a horse for yourself and by 'mistake' it is advertised on your website? ? Or does she mean that the admin error was that he has advertised as younger??? I am sorry, a bit synical atm myself having just sold my much loved horse for her to be advertised again 2 weeks later for more money. Even though the new owner was made redundant (fact) he promised to kjeep me up to date with information about if/when she was sold and I have just received a message on FB from her new owner. So I trust NO ONE!

Well the Equine Tranquility website does look very nice. Lovely stables, paddocks and school and all looks very neat, tidy and professional. Now if you click on the link horses for sale it does take you to Priceless ponies which is run from the same yard and has the same phone number and it does clearly show that she is a dealer................ I do feel very sorry for you and she has lied to you by saying she is giving the horse a home for life but I don't think she has hidden the fact that she is a dealer. The ponies she has for sale all look to be in good condition and look to be useful competition ponies and not the usual coloured cobs that lots of dealers seem to sell. I think that with the power of the internet with forums, facebook etc it is very easy to find out things about people. By just googling that phone number would have come up with the fact that she is a dealer who also offers retirement livery!!!!!

This is a BHS approved yard if you think she was being dishonest then perhaps might be worth taking it up with the BHS. BHS approval can mean that more people will trust the business and if she is doing the same to others under the same deception then the BHS may want to withdraw their approval.

Has anyone had any experiences good or bad with Equine Tranquility that they can advise me of?

I bought a connie from here 5 years ago. The woman was awful and not acting in the best interest of either horse or buyer. I took the horse as i couldnt leave him there. He was just a shell when i got him home, terribly headshy and just didnt respond to anything normally. He was very frightened and didnt interact with anyone or anything. He reared when ridden and i had made it quite clear he was for my autistic daughter. When i emailed her she blamed me and when i responded she was quite abusive and blocked my emails.i would never want a horse of mine anywhere near her or her yard. At the time only equine tranquility was bhs approved but she advertised priceless ponies as bhs approved too. I reported this to bhs. The horse i got from her? He is now 9. He is happy and healthy and is loving life. He lives at a beautiful event yard and events with the big boys. He now has the life he deserves. It has cost an absolute fortune to have the right people work with him but hes worth it.
