I looked at all of the pictures on facebook last night; I found it so upsetting and still feel quite sick. She looks like a beautiful, happy and trusting little filly who has been terribly abused. I thought New Zealand was a civilised country much the same as here, I can understand that this sort of thing might happen out of ignorance and necessity in country’s where they require a horse to work but this is certainly not the case here. His methods look barbaric, I mean why the rope pulled around her belly??? and I don’t know why the smarmy b*tch astride the foal is looking so proud of herself, the foal is exhausted and has totally given up, she couldn’t do anyone any harm poor baby  |

I am sure there is a welfare association in NZ that could be informed..only takes a google.not to mention local press and farriers reg board/governing body...if one of us can poss get all the info, perhaps someone who found it, keep the images we have on here before they get pulled and compile something, I am sure the rest of us will join force..worth mentioning on horse & hound forums too-lots from NZ on there I am certain will assist x

i dont think i should be held responsible for reporting this to horse & hound etc. I reported the picture and emailed the vile creature but thats about as far a my intelligence will take me! im sure there are people on here who will have no problem sorting this mess out!  |

it makes me wonder what else they have been doing with this little baby as its rump muscles are huge ,so how long has this been going on ,it must have been alot younger ,the poor baby

it makes me wonder what else they have been doing with this little baby as its rump muscles are huge ,so how long has this been going on ,it must have been alot younger ,the poor baby It's due to its breeding the rump is as it is, Quarter Horse's have the big rump. It's horrific though, and they should be thankful they live on the opposite side of the world. Poor baby |

I read this just the opposite I don't think this person is the one who is to blame is it? I thought she was the one naming and shaming the hideous couple who are actually doing it before anyone jumps on her? Could be wrong as I'm trying to see on my phone which is not easy. |

This person is from what I can gather from the comments left on the photos, the owner of the mare and foal, and the person who took the photographs. She is clearly as culpable as the other two. |

I would not let them near a gold fish let alone a horse - I did a lot with Stinky from 15 months, but nothing like this. Poor baby and I wonder how long term her back and legs will stand up.
