gone through the schedule and only 2/3 classes that we can do, so its not going to be worth while going,, really upset...i have a 12.2 sp/shp. has won an open class, went/(not placed) to rih last year. so for equifest cant do novice classes or restricted. child looking forward to going but cant justify the expense just for 2 or 3 classes...

Some of the 12.2s are mixed with the 13.2s in the SPs so it looks like a 13.2 class but if you read the class description, they have put them together

I am a litle confused at the "no classes" title of this thread. On every day of Equifest there are a large variety of classes for different breeds / types of horses and ponies. We are not a "minority breed" show - but we do try to cater for them as much as possible. There is only one ridden Thoroughbred class - which is on Friday in Ring 3. We have not called it "ex-racer" - as there are TARRA championship classes on Sunday - which are specifically aimed at ex-racers. The TBs are also eligible for Hack, Riding Horse, Hunter, Competition Horse, Working Hunter or Dressage classes - depending on its ability/type - so there should be a good range of classes. We have Friesian In Hand classes (pure and part/un-registered) on Saturday - Ring 9. We also have Ridden World Breeds classes on Saturday (ring 7) and Sunday (ring 7). Unfortunately we can not justify putting a specific ridden Friesian class for the numbers likely to be forward. I hope that this helps!!!

If a show like Equifest doesn't have enough classes then I don't want to read the schedule of one which does!!
I know what you mean though about having a certain type of horse and not fitting in to many categories. I have an unregistered appy x, 14.2hh and I won't jump too high. Still though, I've entered us into all the dressage and am considering riding club pony. There definitely seems to be classes for everyone if you look hard enough. Can't wait!

There are too many classes for us! Think I've jotted down a total of 16 classes that we are eligible for! Think we need to cut down a few..

My friend has had the same problem she has a 15.2 hunter 3year old and only two classes for her to do and although it's a lovely show it seems alot of money to go for just two classes .

It's worth seeing what other shows are also being held in the showground (on the Sunday) too - last year there were only 2 Equifest classes that my horse could do, but we managed to find some BSPA classes to fill up the rest of the week.

I also have the opposite problem, so many classes we're eligible for=so many clashes! Just reading through the schedule gave me a headache found it much easier to timetable for a champ show with lots less classes but lots more 'chill out time' too. ;D

I also had too many classes to consider... I had to restrict my mares to 1 class each per day, until the last day, when they will do 2 each. If my lorry and finances had of stretched, I would have taken all 4 of my mares !!!!!

I have to many classes to pick from with my daughters pony but find it a little more restrictive for our yearling - she is hopefully (fingers crossed!) going for the WCC classes but has to come for the full week!! She isn't really mature enough to compete with 2 and 3 year olds in the big coloured youngstock classes through the week so she'll probably just have to be walked out each day but I'm sure it'll be an experience for her!! My friend has the same problem with her In-hand 4 year old show pony classes are very limited for him how about next year some dun classes - or just unusual colour??
