i am not looking forward to the stable arrangement according to the plan, it will be our luck because of the time we get there, we will have stables in the blue area that are near the boundery fence according to the plan and horsebox parking near the working hunter rings, it is going to be a nightmare getting stuff backwards and forwards from horsebox to stables all the time. it would have been so much better if blue stables had been split into two areas with anther block next to working hunter rings and parking in middle or alternatively the stable area more centralised with parking all araound. Could someone explain to me why stables could not have been allocated when you booked your stable/s. another thing i am worried about is having a stallion next to my mares after last year when the stallion kicked through the wooden stable next to us, what happens if something happens at night when you are parked miles away, wewon't be able to hear anything. sorry for the moans but i am expecting it to be a nightmare, we only came for the first time last year but i was a happy purple stable person, parked next our ponies to really hope i m wrong. last year we had thought we might book into blue stables next year as many of our classes were in ring 4 and the other rings we were in were also so far away from the purple stables, as it happens we didn't have a choice this year as no purple stables anyway. hoping the weather improves, gearing up for bad weather this year because if i am prepared i won't need it and it will be sun sun sun. Hi, please do not get upset, when you get there I think you will find that the new system has been set-up to try and benefit everyone. As for your worry about your horses overnight, there will be security on duty all night, but not only that, the stable management team (experienced both at stable management and horses) will be in caravans right next to stables. IF there is a problem overnight, we will A: be on it right away, and B: because we will have your mobile no, you will be contacted straight away. The system had to be changed, as once again, the few ruined it last year for the many. My team and I are really hoping that you will give us the chance to make it work for you all. Just listen when you arrive and follow the instructions that you are (nicely) given, and hopefully the sun will shine on everyone at Equifest this year. We are really looking forward to meeting everyone.

I will gladly follow any instructions given if only we can get any stable My original plan has gone awry and I've just left a message at E of E show ground to go on waiting list, if we can't get one I don't know what we'll do

If you do not get one from Equifest, go to the Equifest face book page, there is a poster on there, I think her name is Lisa Blackman who says she is a short distance from showgrounds, on a farm, with stables to let. Maybe that will suit, good luck.

Has anyone had an answer to the parking up together question. I'm not so bothered that the horses are stabled together- more that I am parked with and can set up camp with friends who are travelling separately. We have first class at lunchtime Weds whereas friends not on until th eevening , so I will be arriving much earlier. Do I park up and save adoining spaces- and annoy everyne by so doing or is there somewhere to park up temporarily until the rest of my group arrive , and then all get parked together??? Have been so looking forward to it and am getting anxious now.

don't get anxious, just park up on hard standing, make a cup of tea, have a glass of wine or something stronger, and maybe a sandwich, wait for friends to arrive and drive into main parking area together! ;D

Thank you Twiglet. I will park up on the day parking site and go to first class from wagon as with an everyday show and then return to wagn by which time all the gang will have arrived- I hope- then proceed onto field to park up together, and we'll have a fab time! ;D

Looking at this new map I think that the parking for the blue stables is going to cause problems as the stables are all in that one corner restricting how close you can park to your stables, if you get there on the weds your going to be a fair walk from you horse

I hope we'll be pleasantly surprised as I don't have room to take a wheelbarrow so not looking forward to lugging bales of bedding halfway across the showground!!
Also - can we unload horses in the 'waiting area'? I'm hoping to meet up with some friends so we can all get parked together but one of my ponies won't stand on the box - am I ok to unload him until they arrive?

I'm sure the Equifest Team are doing as much as they can to make please everyone, it is very hard though considering there aren't many of them! Everyone enjoy themselves and i'm sure we will all have a ball! I have been going since the year after it started and enjoyed every year! 2012 is gonna be the year to remember!!

OMG! How bad is it? We are coming on Thursday to stable Thursday and Friday night. How far is the parking from the stables? I am on my own and have 2 young children with their ponies, and don't really want to be miles away from the lorry!! I am getting worried reading all the comments on here!
