I have a 5 year old sec a that has only just been broken and i was wondering what classes i can get away with using a snaffle for other than the novices. Can i use a snaffle for the restricted and the 4,5,6 year olds? is it just the opens that you have to use a pelham?

You can use a snaffle in any class - people just often prefer to use a pelham or double in the open classes. There's nothing that says you can't use a snaffle though if your horse goes happily in one.

Oh ok thank you. It just I haven't done riddens for about 4 years and that was on a 10 year old show pony so I just always used a Pelham.
