Flash floods, burst drains, grumpy husband, even grumpier father in-law, combine harvester stood deserted in the middle of a large pool of water! Thinking of moving out if the rain doesn't stop down here in Oxfordshire!

Here in Central Scotland it's grey but dry. Been raining on and off for days but still sounds better than down South.
Starting to wish I'd entered Border Union and Braco instead of heading down to Hickstead. Camping so will bring a lilo just in case. Don't want to drown in the middle of the night!

On derbyshire/ staffs borders we have torrential rain. Have rescued my hunter from the pond, sorry field and now feeling very sorry for my little fell who is stood under a big tree! (eating I might add ) The welsh cob point blank refused to stay out once it started, I went out to fetch him in and he had already plonked himself in said hunters box munching on his haylage

Well I live near Newbury showground, but had travelled to Basingstoke, Hants this morning in absolutely torrential rain. Dont laugh but went to test drive the new SX4, the man in the showroom was a wee bit concerned. Left Basingstoke at 1.30pm in my ford KA its so low to the ground all we needed was oars ( or (&^%$s) -LOL and it took 5 hours to get home. The M4 is blocked, the A34 blocked, all roads around are in deadlock, and even any shortcuts (which us locals know are blocked by horrendous floods). Many houses in the surrounding areas have been flooded. I am no spring chicken and I have never seen rain like this before, it has washed away complete roads in some places. OH Dear I hope it stops raining

Oh you poor people, thank goodness we haven't reached that level YET !! I did note the paddock had a big pool of water in, bought in two of the welshies and have left the other three out, they do have a field shelter whilst paddock is very wet they have been given some fresh grass to roam on ..you would never have known that people are experiencing floods when you look at that. The ponies are happy anyway. Have been told the rain is going to die off throughout tonight and we do have a few better days to look forward to. I hope that is true...

Torrential rain here started at 8am and hasnt eased up yet, our fields are lakes, got home from work to find ponies shivering stood upto their knees in water. Bought who I can in (water over tops of my wellies!) onto built up beds at the back of flooded stables and others are on the lorry for the night which is completely ridiculous please let it stop raining, just about to start moving furniture upstairs My friend has just text me to say she's had to leave her car on the side of the road and wade down the road to her house!

We had quite a lot of rain last night and a bit this morning, but it seems to be passing really close but missing us here in Charing, was out and about in Kent today and luckily did'nt see a drop, no doubt it will hit us at some point soon. It was cool, but not enough for rugs (luckily), the last thing I need is a tack room full of muddy dripping NZ's. As my NPS numbers arrived today, I'm really looking forward to it now, but the weather over that side seems awful!! BUM!!! Have just read the weather report on met office site, severe weather warning issued for S.E. And long range bad news bears for Malvern Week!!!

Still bl***y wet in Wales. It's awful, we have more mud here now than in the middle of winter. Had straw delivered today, they chose to deliver it when i was at work, nasty soaking wet straw mess when i got home My thoughts go out to the poor competitiors at the Royal Welsh and then NPS champs, i dont envy you at all. So pleased we decided not to enter either this year!

RW showground shown on TV tonight water 1/2 way up tractor wheels on some stand sites, : boss man there said they were confident they would clear it all and show definatly going ahead. Thats fine but between wooden stables will be a bog, proberbly in the wooden stable line too. I have been on that showground in bad weather and it is an experience I do not wish to repeat Will wait and see nearer NPS champs if too wet just won't go. Have been soaked through 4 times out of the last 5 shows.

Took me an hour half to get home from our yard this evening about 5 miles usually takes about 10 mins.......live on Glos/Wilts borders, floods everywhere, M4 was at standstill from junc 14 down past junc 16. Also worried about hay, lady in farm next door told me the contractor who cuts her hay says it will be £9 a bale this year, she did add, he was a teller of stories!! Perhaps we will have a better winter!! Great to read these threads, you realize you are not the only one worriyng about weather, shows, hay etc etc

We are 25 mins from hickstead and cant believe they are ok. We had rain like i've never seen it. Stables nearly flooded, house nearly flooded and half the school has floated down the drive and left a sand bank by the front gate. Going to shovel it up tomorrow and put it back! But the ground is still hard so no harm done. I do feel for the people who have really flooded, I was quite close today.

Well new start today, hope everyone got through the night ok, we are about 20mins from Hickstead and we had the morning from hell yesterday, so much rain our roads were like rivers. Today is much better here, very dull and had some spattering's of rain but nothing major yet although not sure it is going to hold off for the day!!! My field had a lake in it yesterday but it has all drained away this morning, fingers crossed for RIHS.

Hope those of you that were close to flooding are Ok, can't imagine what it must be like. Sun is out today, with some blue skies, although a lot of cloud, it could go either way, be a nice day or turn wet and horrid again. Lots of abandoned cars on way to yard this morning....including one with a canoe on the roof which looked rather funny. Ponies in field, which was not that bad, only one patch of standing water. Saw RW on TV last night.......lots of items swimming in water! But if it does stay dry for a few days it should improve..fingers crossed

Never seen rain like this before. Quite bright and only bit of rain today. Yesterday I would not have believed it if I had not waded in it. Man hole covers lifted, some broken. Rescued my mother who is at bottom of village and the river broke into her house. Up to my knees in the house moving everything up higher. It was up to my bum in the drive. All sorted today with humidifiers going like mad. Had to email insurance company as phones blocked. Outdoor surface resembled local swimming pool yesterday, now total reck with a lot of the membrane pulled up. Oh well ,surely there can't be any more up there, can there? I'm near Gloucester
