Take your saddle and go for it, if someone says not to then stop!

When I showed my 3 year old in hand I would take saddle and if show was suitable give him a little ride around after his class. Go for it and make the most of gaining experience on him at shows.

Taking my 4yr old highland to Equifest to show in hand, but am gonna try and pop him round ridden, just think its really good experience for younger ones :-)
Obviously if we get told to stop, we will... Hope it goes well :-)
