White Willows Prospero 1978-2012

Today we said a very sad farewell to the super premium Dartmoor stallion White Willows Prospero. At 34 he was just tired and worn out, and was not enjoying life as he should.

I have owned Prospero since he was 18, he sired some lovely stock with me, and before that sired winning stock. He had extremely old and valuable Dartmoor bloodlines.

He was a feisty boy even into his dotage, he loved going out every day, and he loved his food. We coddled him with various rugs and special food, all of which he loved, he was very very much loved and respected, and we will miss him terribly. A small pony with a huge presence.

You mut miss him very much. We used to have White Willows Banquo who was out of Spellbound by Boveycombe Leo. I have very fond memories of Mrs Montgomery and her ponies.

Yes I do miss him terribly, tonight was awful, his empty stable......
He was also out of Spellbound who was born in 1960! and by Shilstone Rocks Fury. We still have White willows Charmer. I also have fond memories of Mrs Montgomery, a lovely lady who bred some wonderful and important ponies, who contributed greatly to Dartmoor pony bloodlines.

Sorry to hear your sad news I remember when I first got involved with Dartmoor ponies in the 80's and remember he was a really beautiful boy

Thanks Pat, yes he was beautiful, a very typey sort of Darty, with the most lovely head, we miss him terribly, stallions are so special.

r.i.p young man xxxxxxx i had a white willows pony for 19yrs and if you had as much fun with your boy as i had with my girly you will of had the best days of your life xxxxx
