My poor pug puppy had to have her anal glands surgically removed today. H anyone else's dogs had this? I just hope she has a 100% full recovery and doesn't suffer from Loss of bowl control

my dog is on her way to having hers removed although i cant weight the cons up with the pros, shes only 2 and i dont want her having trouble for the rest of her life with her backside. it takes 2 mins for vet nurse up the road to express them ever time she needs doing. adding a bit of bran in her food twice a week had helped. let me know how you get on.

Well she hasn't been to the toilet yet and it's been 48 hours since she did a pooh, slightly concerned as she keeps crying now. I hope she's going to be ok

I expect so, it will take between 3-4 weeks to heal completely apparently
