I'm so pleased for them!!!! All our friends have had the most amazing HOYS this year, it seems to have been their year for it so far, and still a few to go at the weekend too and all lovely lovely people wouldn't begrudge any one of them.
I spend all year having no interest in HOYS as there are no classes there suitable for us but when it comes to this week and working cobs commentary I become a total addict and totally get why people who can afford it are willing to spend the cash to do it. A little teeny bit of me is a bit sad as it's not something we will ever be able to do but it's only one week a year!
cheetham I can't even imagine how that must feel but it's only for a very very very select few lucky people each year and I'm not even close to being in that league. Unless you can play with the big boys in the plaited classes the M&Ms with a tall daughter are completely not in our grasp so we have to be a bit realistic that's a goal too far!!

Evening all Hugs to Hatman , Haggis Marmite and Lukey Went to a little show today as Nutmeg has not been indoors this year . She decided she is an arab not a shetland so i had to take her in the inhand instead of Louise . I could hardly keep up with her but she won her class and was reserve in hand champ Then Louise rode her in the ridden shetland class , she was first but the only one in it . Louise got to ride a stunning Darty for a friend of ours and she won the first ridden on him . She was over the moon as she has been dying to ride him for ages . She also took Nutmeg in the ridden M&M and was 2nd out of 2 but got to do a canter go round . She had a bit off a blip in the championship as there was a big coloured who cantered past her and she was a bit scared of it and bucked . Louise coped with her really well though as she kept leaping about everytime there was clapping or the tanoy but she managed to hold her together in the classes . Not sure if the fact that our other shetland went back to my mums for the winter has unsettled her a bit Had a really enjoyable day though and was pleased with how Louise coped with Nutmeg

Haggis never say never! There are tall adults riding in large breeds so I'm sure Alice would be fine. Connies are late maturing too so if yours is young it might be totally different next year.

LOL Alice isn't confident enough and I'm too much of a nobody to go up against the grown ups in the large breeds! It's hard when she's young enough to be in First Ridden but looks more like a 16 year old.
KJM no he's 8 so not young, he's not a top class boy, he's an all rounder he won't take us to the same level as Applause showing but hopefully he'll get her use to a big pony and we are planning on doing more pony club eventing and our school is trying to join the inter schools competitions in which case I hope they can start to learn to pull off a decent dressage test over the winter. He's a very different pony to Appy.
Hope hats is OK she went to a swimming gala today so maybe it was a long way away.
well done ILN. Are you doing blue barn in November?

Haggis don't put yourself down. Maybe Alice isn't ready yet but in a couple of years when she has more experience it doesn't matter who you are it is do-able.xx

I meant to tell you all, after our ice creams we went for a wander round Harrods and into the riding department - it was so odd, not like our saddlery I can tell you very mixed bunch of stuff - they only had a couple of riding hats on display - one had a union jack on it, one was very bling and a plainer one - starting prices were .... £1,100
I almost keeled over!

I got Nutmegs legs clean this morning then Louise kept riding her through all the puddles in the carpark when we got there Yes Haggis we are doing Bluebarn in November . Alice is a fab jockey and Magic is stunning , im sure they can do Jrs next year and give a good account of themselves .

Strangely I didn't cheetham!!! Alice liked the union jack one Elena like the bling one and I preferred the ones in the boot of my car!!!
They had a few purple dandy brushes for £6, then lots of metallic hunter wellies at £120, lots of tweeds and then those hats - that was about it - very odd mix of stuff.

Ooh Dazy you shouldn't have had second helpings for lunch! Has anyone watched X factor? I'm shocked it is absolute rubbish, usually it's a question of who gets knocked out this time it's who's going to stay in. It's total pants

Just got back the gala was in Penzance . Lani did some good times taking 12 seconds of her breast stroke. She got 4 4ths and a 3rd she did really well as she has a broken knuckle .
Dazy that looks very sunk

Just looked at today's HOYS results and a home produced pony that lives at the end of my road won the LRHT well done darcy and tori.
I had a few wobbles today but it was good to take my mind off things.

OMG Dazy hope there wasn't a horse on board!
I haven't seen any of the X factor this year, I hated it last year and none of the ads have made me want to watch it this year either, all getting very tired and time for ditching it methinks.
