AMWAP.. Snapdragons has hit the nail on the head...do you have a crate.. if not invest in one... and fast.. when your leaving said puplett alone, stick her in the crate.. she will come to love it and think of it as her safe place..
I feel your pain... but... if you do leave things in reach, she will have them.. my house is the opposite of a house for disabled people.. everything is high up or out of reach...
I really do recommend a crate though..
Starlight.. ooooohhhhhhhhh... dont go out in the dark.. and beware strange bumps in the night... LOL

What a bargain dinner AMWAP, it will be yum.
I have never had a dog, but I think the dog experts must be right about that crate. You could put toys in there and a lovely snuggly bed. Puplett cannot wreck you house and he swallow somethin into the bargain.
They have those dog crates on ebay. I bought a smaller one for travelling my chickens.

Poor little Maggie LOL, she would be wounded in a cage!
Shes actually not so bad when I go to work or go to bed, its when I shut her in the kitchen to go and do something in another room that shes a pest because I forget to move things. The kitchen bin is an issue I am hoping she will grow out of once the worms have all gone and she feels more secure about food.
I also think she has learned pretty quickly that if I hear her destroying something I come back into her to see what she is destroying. Naughty puplett. But she has only been here for a month and lived in kennels all her life before that (shes just over 6 months old) so isn't used to all these nice, crunchy chewy things.
As I am typing she is under the kitchen table with the foil tray that our turkey roast came in that she has stolen from the bin whilst we ate our tea pmsl.
Shes not a pest really LOL
My sister has a crate somewhere I can if I really need it. I'm going to give her another week or 2 but then I may try her in one I think. Its not so bad when I find things before she seriously hurts herself, but the stealing of razors could have been nasty!
I was worried about her chewing wires and things but touch wood (apart from a phone charger!) she hasn't bothered.
I saw a lovely new 7ft christmas tree in B & Q at the weekend and did promise myself a new tree this year as my old one is looking a bit ratty. However, i think I will wait until next year as I can see her having lots of fun stealing things from it PMSL.
Have already told Frankie there will definately be no point in putting chocolates on it!
Funny little thing that she is is now scoffing the remains if frankies tea (turkey roast, mainly veg and mashed spuds left) but has left her own food untouched! Definate people food issues LOL.

Shame you live so far from me amwap I have various crates in different sizes from our puppies over the years. They are invaluable, all my dogs have felt really settled in them and it makes life a lot easier at night when they are little and enjoying destroying the house! I found that they took themselves off to their crate when they wanted a bit of peace and quiet as they got older.
Starlight maybe when you've been there for a bit you could light your drive by directional spot lights or very subtle lighting that are pointed from the ground up into the trees, it would look really beautiful as you drive and light your way home and more welcoming if you feel a tree canopy can be a bit intimidating. I love tree lined drives, always wanted one, there is something lovely and enveloping that cossets you into your nest!!
As your pup is a bit older she might take a little time to settle into one, but it is worth moving her bed into it and acclimatising her.

Now don't jump on me more professional dog folk but when my lab puppy was stealing from work surfaces and almost stabbed herself with a falling knife I took the advice of my dog trainer and placed lightweight but noisy metal saucepan lids precariously balanced on the edge of the surfaces so when she jumped up she'd knock them off and they made such a clatter she very quickly stopped doing it. It has to be something not associated with you or they'll still do it when you're not looking, this way they won't do it at all.

LOL snaps - first daughter - organic rice cakes, nothing remotely bad until she was much older, daughter number two - biscuits etc.... anything (within reason!) - funny how the standards slip after number 1!!!!! I think 10 months for an oreo cookie is fine - as long as you don't let him near a cream sofa or carpet!

Just been watching Master Chef. Never cooked bone marrow. (Usually gave it to the dogs in the bone) Wondering if any of you ever use, cook and eat it............?

That chef who hadn't done it before but tested it and experimented with it and pulled off an amazing dish is streets ahead of the others he's amazing. Nope, don't fancy marrow bone but it's meant to be very nutritious and great if done well. I'm pretty sure my mum use to have it on toast when she was growing up. Just found the greedy cat with her head stuck in a yogurt pot the girls put in the sink instead of the bin for some reason, and the dog trying to lick round the edges of the pot while it's on the cats head - honestly my house has turned into a mad house last few months

I think he's a contender for winning the thing haggis. It was an interesting programme tonight. Some of those oyster dishes didn't turn out too well, and the lobster looked a real mess don't you think?
Competition at that level must be stressful. One of those guys was shaking like a leaf.

I love lobster thermidor, those were the days - more a beans on toast budget these days It was a much better programme tonight, really sorted them out, last few I've wondered if any of them were actually professional chefs, some of the celebrity amateurs had done a better job! Seriously impressed with anyone who can take an ingredient they don't know how to prepare and work it out on intuition and turn out something stunning - I wouldn't have a clue!

Millie loved her crate when she was a puppy, that was her own space and the kids were made to leave her alone if she chose to go in there. Now we just use it in the car for travelling, so the minute she sees it she starts bouncing around as she knows a trip to the seaside is on the cards!!! Also good for stopping muddy/wet/sandy dogs from bouncing all over your car upholstery!

Agreed mm car crates are invaluable!
Note to self - stop having late hot baths and falling asleep in them! One day I will drown. Only woke up tonight because the cat bit my toe!!!

Morning all I will give the crate a try next week if she carries on being a pest LOL. I know they are good for helping get them clean at night as well (we're still having piddled on paper) as they don't want to pee in 'their' space, so it may solve a few things. HM, that saucepan lid trick sounds like a really good idea. She knows she shouldn't jump at the sides (she checks to see if I am looking) so that could work! Could also balance one on my bin lid as well. Will have to pre-warn OH though when we go to bed PMSL, he'll think someone is breaking in My dinner was lush Sagey. Used a jar of M & S Caramilised onion gravy that was supposed to go with the sausage tray bake we are having tonight, but forgot to make any gravy so used that instead and its very yummy. OH currently obsessed with M & S 'whoopsies'. Doesn't matter if we would use it or not, if its got a fiver off or 50p, he's straight in there. He has even worked out what times the stickers go on PMSL. First thing in a morning for stuff dated that day, an hour or so before closing for some stuff for the next day. He follows the 'whoopsie' man around, and has been known to check his trolley to see what he has on there. Very embarrassing, I usually wander off and leave him to it. A couple of weeks ago it was handbags at dawn with a eco warrier type chappie. He had a trolley, OH had our trolley. Both loitering with intent around the fish. It was really busy so eco warrier guy had parked his trolley at the end of the aisle. OH found the trolley, had a good rumage through as it was full of whoopsies. Liberated 2 half ducks, some mince, a packet of lamb chops and some thai prawn things. Eco warrier must have seen him do it so asked for them back. OH said no. Eco warrier said (everso posh accent he had) 'but you took them from my trolley so they belong to me'. OH said 'I didn't know it was your trolley, I thought it was what the staff were using to put these on the shelf, and seeing as you have a trolley full of whoopsies before they have even hit the shelf you must have taken them from the staffs trolley. Snooze you loose pal. Hold on to your trolley then it won't get raided' OH is a big lad, all muck and muscle and as broad yorkshire as they come. Eco warrier lost the stare down and shuffled off, mumbling into his dreadlocks. I leave OH to it now, too embarrassing to fight with people over whoopsies. But I find M & S very good value to be honest. Its about the same price as tesco's for most things, the offers they have on are very good value and chuck a few whoopsies in as well and its cheaper than tescos, and much, much nicer.

I think you mean an Inky dinky saddle snapdragons , im sure thats what they are called . Well i have come to a decision that Nutmeg has to go as she is not a first ridden pony . I will be really sad to see her go and i was going to keep her untill Louise is a bit bigger but once she is confident she will have 3 other ponies to ride so i can see Nutmeg getting wasted . So i am going to advertise her as a lead rein , a job that she is fab at . Wont be holding my breath in this market though but nevermind im not paying livery for her so in no rush to move her on . Amwap my dog loves her crate , at first i didnt shut her in it while she got used to it . I dont shut her in it now as she is really good but its handy to have , she has a blanket over it so she can go and hide in there if she wants , she also stashes stuff in there as well so washing the quilt she has in there is normally interesting as there will be all sorts hidden in there . Haggis Marmite i fall asleep in the bath if it is late , then wake up freezing so i try to avoid late baths . I have done something to my foot , i think maybe pulled something as it is swollen on the ball off my foot and really painfull . I thought it was getting better untill i did some lead rein schooling with Nutmeg yesterday then it started to hurt again . Im gonna try and keep of it as much as possible and if it dosnt get better i will go to the doctors . After reading all about what you lot cook in your slow cookers i think i may have to invest in one
