I started using Verdo pellets in September, have a grey and a piebald and find their legs are cleaner than they ever were on shavings, no staining at all. One of my horses is very greedy and I was worried he might eat them but he is not in the least interested in eating them even when put in dry. I do not agree that they are cheaper than shavings, I use at least two bags a week, often three, to max one bale of shavings a week. They are much easier to muck out and really like them for my gelding, not so much for my mare and I now just use them at the back of her stable and have gone back to shavings in front as pellets constantly needed damping down at front or were just too dusty. The muck heep is smaller and I am hoping they are quicker to rot down.

the vat on the biofuel is 5% the horse bedding is 20% but they are both exactly the same

I use Blue Ribbon horse bedding. I find them really good and very economical but as Ive said before I do put a bale of shavings down on top.

I quite agree LWP are a good product but in spite of all their promises on the web site their customer service is not great We had eight ponies on them for a couple of years but gave up and went elsewhere due to constant delivery problems. We only have access for a 7.5 ton max wagon, it is a fact - regardless of who ever is driving etc etc!!! Every order we informed LWP of this fact, even stating a larger lorry would be sent back without delivery. And every order turned up in anything BUT a 7.5tonner complete with paperwork to tell them they would not get access. We had every EXPERT driver attempt it, we had a damaged gate post, we had a palet load subsequently left completely blocking our drive so our cars could not be moved out of the yard untill my daughter and I moved them all by hand. We sent back numerous loads, each order taking at least a week to eventually arrive. Eventually we gave up and went elsewhere until last week we decided to try once again to see if matters had improved..... VERY silly idea, - order went in first thing Mon morn, wed evening get a phone call to say delivery arriving thurs, "lovely, on a max 7.5 ton wagon?" "oh no dont have one of those!!" leave a message on LWP phone to explain the situation, request they consult with their delivery company and get back to us.,,,,,, totally ignored.!! Thurs lunch time lorry driver calls to say 10 mins away "lovely, in a 7.5 ton lorry?" "No, a 10 ton, not much bigger than a 7.5" "take it back, wont get in, dont want another damaged gatepost, thanks" LWP not that interested on the phone, "didnt we have another place to deliver to? would we like to arrange delivery ourselves etc etc" So eventually after suffering another rather rude phone call from the delivery company they have found they have a smaller wagon which is rather busy delivering to all the people with difficult access (like us perhaps!!) so they should be able to bring it next Monday..... we will see, could still turn up in an artic.! Whatever, Im afraid I think it highly unlikely we will order again.

I used LWP for the last couple of years, the first pallet came & the driver was very helpful, the following year they didn't come when they said they would & I ended up wasting 2 days waiting in for them This year I am just about to order from www.steprenewables.co.uk & see how they go & they look a bit cheaper than LWP

Thanks for that sarahlucysmith, looks very interesting, we also had the same problem, we dont live on site so although we requested a contact call it was usually a case of " we are waiting at locked gate where are u" (in a huge lorry of course) or we would wait all day and nothing would arrive. Let us know what you think of this company and product.
