we are the same, and have a 10 yr old shetland mare, just broken in the autumn and a 3 yr old sec a that was broken but not rode away the back end of the summer. Wanted to get both going for early shows, but with nowhere to ride and tiny 9 yr old jockey ive gave in and turned them away for a few months!

I think I'd be tempted to do the same - we're awash here today, been here over 30 years and can't remember as much water everywhere before.

we also are not lucky enough to have an arena but we make do with what we have. Road work is important anyway but the fields are where the faster work has to be done, it all works out in the end. We have come back from Olympia with a 9th and highland best of breed, not bad for a muddy soggy field if i say so myself....

From a muddy soggy field you produced a beautiful sparkling white pony!

We use broomes every so often, but I can only take her when mums not busy as she drives the lorry! So again not a perfect solution but it definitely does help

Its nice to see though that so many people who have been successful like yourself hoys6789 are in the same boat as me, even our roads are flooded now so hacking has become difficult aswell! Hopefully the worst of this weather has passed now!

iv got this problem and iv had to put my newly broken horse onto a livery yard with facilites, its quite pricey but iv been enjoying having people to talk to and iv got a friend on there who will be helping me out alot. Its not ideal and my stables are going to waste as there empty, but after spending out on having my horse sent away to be broken i needed somewere to ride him when he came back (today - yey)

We don't have anything! Daughter has to hack round the village in the eves and then down to the school at friends' yards at the weekend. It was okay when we had a working trailer but that's gone now so it is tough.
