Telegraph,as you are so knowledgble, what would you have had champion??I do believe there were at least 2 ponies in the championship that have been to the final before??As for inhand class what do you mean,as i thought the champion was a very well schooled and blanced pony that work from behind, what is it that you look for in a ridden pony? Seems to me that a homeproduced pony has deserved its ticket and they should be ready to take a slating, for the few bitter people out there. Plus entries were not that low but not as many forward as entered.Think if i am right the said pony won its section at Midland Counties last week??

I suggest you read my posts again I said nothing about the pony that got the ticket. Well done to her she was very lucky as there were quite a few that went just as good who were not even placed. You should be aware it is not about how old or whether they are home produced or not it is about the best of the best getting to Olympia. The Highland was well schooled so do not be so defensive.
Did you see all the classes, probably not, and there was definately not the quantity or the quality in every class whether they were entered or not.

Guys
We are all entitled to our opinions, and we can all listen to constructive criticism - but please remember that the Champion pony was jockeyd by a young girl of only 13, she has worked extremely hard, please lets not spoil her wonderfull win today.
Thank you.

You are obviously getting at me and telegraph but neither of us said any thing about the champion, we were mainly talking of the connie nf section so do not start an argument where there is not one! As for the girl being thirteen, yes she must be elated but because she is thirteen should not mean we all have to watch what we say. She has just proved her pony is good, other peoples opinions will not matter! Other people work hard too!!

I did read your post and you did say that they were lucky as the gods were looking down on them??Sorry if by that you did mean the pony is not of the standard then what was is supposed to mean??Yes there were some nice ponies in other sections but it is the judges decision, not everyone will be happy. Sorry but i dont understand by your comment 'very lucky' why??,It is a straight moving ,correct for it breed type but with no face on it,Again produces can get an animal which is none of the above but that is ok??As you said that it is where the best of breed should go,but for the last few years with exception there have been plenty that have gone and are not a true breed standard!

Yes it is brilliant for her to qualify for Olympia and NOT ONE PERSON on here said it was not!! So why do people feel they have to make a big deal out of telling us how it went!! I can assure you that it was not the only pony that was foot perfect today either!!!

Blimey, the m&m first ridden was a bit bizarre today! The class was split as there were alot in it. The first half did their go round, show and strip and then the 2nd half came in and did the same. 5 were taken from each section for what was thought to be the presentation but OH NO........... The class then began again!!! The 10 remaining ponies did a new go round and were then pulled in a new (totally different) order. They then did another show (for the judge that had already marked their shows) and another strip (again for the judge that had already seen them and marked their conformation). Finally ( over 2 hours later) the results were called.
To be fair the result seemed fair, but has anyone ever come across this before??!! The result by the way was 1st Southerley Red Ember 2nd Rosmarche Huckleberry 3rd Stowbrook Jenny Wren.
Ekens Fifer won the LR and was Mini Champion.

:)Well done to Kirsty, Hannah, The Barr Family and Oliver Burchell-Small who originally produced Ekens Fifer and made him into an amazing child's pony. Good to hear that the catty one's won't go under these judges again. Even better to hear they'll leave these the fairest of judges for the rest of us to enjoy. Leave the "cats" to chase their mates for tickets. There's no need for Mystic Meg any more. We all know what's going on ;D
