Last Thursday (15th) we had to have to say good bye to Astro. We have had him since he was 8yrs, firstly as a second pony for my eldest daughter and then as a school master for youngest - school master with tongue in cheek, as soon as younger daughter started to ask of him rather than being taken round...he had other ideas!! LOL We had seen him through many ailments like you do, some minor and some not so- strangles, stifle operations etc but he always pulled through ...such a strong will power he always surprised us I think that is why I felt guilty and it was harder than ever to have him PTS out of his pain, at 25 yrs old I expected him to last forever.......any way I had him put to sleep at home, me holding and cuddling him. We were then fortunate enough to make the decision of having him cremated....his ashes are now in the house after travelling on the back seat of my BMW bringing him home !! Thanks for listening to me babbling on.....RIP Astro
