As a matter of interest I thought Caroline Hamilton had said that the appeal being discussed on this forum fairly recently was being held at the end of November and the results would be published on the CHAPS website. Nothing has appeared as yet?

Nothing has appeared as yet? if it was being discussed at the end of the month, its now only the 3rd, weve just had the weekend, and Admin is closed. Caroline im sure, will stick to her word, she is reliable, so if that is what she said id think its whats going to happen

Could I please ask, did CHAPS not think it necessary to investigate the competitor who stood to gain from the alteration of the marks?

I think chaps have done a good job. Well done.
I think investigating the competitor who stood to gain would have been a fruitless job. IF he was involved, there would be no way of finding proof or proving it. Hopefully, the outcome of this investigation will make others think on in the future, as CHAPS has proved they are not prepared to sweep this cheating under the carpet!

i think the judge got off very lightly especially as some of the outcomes from other societys after disiplinary action for lesser crimes were not so leniant.

So, on the first hearing, the judge in question was banned for 2years, on appeal, the judge in question was downgraded from h to a, for 2years. Am I right in thinking the appeal was therefore successful in part for the said judge. On reading the appeal document, I was slightly confused as it said that the appeal was not upheld, and yet the 2 year suspension was changed to a demotion from an H to an A judge. I'm struggling to understand why you would reduce the penalty imposed if the appeal was not upheld?

From the postings on HG it had appeared that the judge had changed the marks to favour a competitor, yet from the appeal outcome as reported his offence seems to be only that he did not initial the mark change?
There does not appear to be an investigation into WHY the mark was changed and yet the steward would also have had to give evidence if the reason ( which I believe is the only VALID reason allowed) was that the original mark was mis heard?
Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?

At least the judges in question were given a reason for their demotion! CHAPS produced minutes that explained the process taken and the result of the investigation. Their statement on the website explained clearly the action taken and why. What a shame all societies are unable to do this!!!

I was actually thinking that- wondering whether the judges were allowed to be present at proceedings, unlike certain other societies!!
