Have been showing successfully at local level in working hunter and equitation. I have been doing show hunter but some people have been telling me that he is not a show hunter and im just a bit confused as to what a show hunter should be and whether my pony really is a show hunter or whether we are being silly trying?

A show hunter pony should be a shrunken down version of a hunter, if you take a look in a shp class (any height) at a big show you'll see different types, ponies with a lot of bone, so generally are more stocky and wider and more fine shp's with less bone, and then there are the ponies that are in-betweeners and could do the Sp's and Shp's....
It all could be the judges preference, and perhaps, at local shows the judges arnt actually on a panel so sometimes mis-judge...

Oh right, thank you! Think we will carry on doing a few local show hunters!
