Does anyone know if the schedule is available for this show yet? With the spring spectacular cancelled and a snow drift in our lane that'll take weeks to shift I need something to look forward to!

mayfields - if your schedule doesn't arrive today I rather suspect it has gone missing in the mail as I would have thought they would all have arrived by now even with second class post.
Send an email to the office & I will post another, if it doesn't arrive.

Info on TSR Talent Spotting Training classes at NCPA 6th May Show. The classes will start at around 14.30 in the first available ring possibly 2 or 5. You enter on the day at the ring £10 and have a normal class with lots of feedback and help from the judges. Please wear normal show gear.

I think we may be coming to this show with my friend's little SHP, but I'm very confused about classes... We're complete novices at this affiliated showing lark, have only done RC shows before but fancy coming to this if the weather's right. Pony is a little 122 SHP, not measured but definitely below that height (about 11.3 in old money). Does he need to be measured? I think my friend is planning to take NCPA family membership and also register the pony with NCPA. We have 2 jockeys - a 6yo LR jockey and a 9yo FR jockey. Don't want to do open classes with group canter and individual gallop - the pony has always been a LR pony til this year, and is being schooled as a FR pony by my 9yo jockey, ready for his own LR jockey to do FYFR with him next year. He's only done 2 FR shows so far, don't want to confuse him with opens! So, looking at the schedule, I think we could do the following... BSPS Hunter Pony - does the pony have to be BSPS registered for this? 66 Lead Rein Pony of Hunter Type 67 First Pony of Show Hunter Type N.C.P.A. Registered Mountain and Moorland Ridden / Non-Native Ridden (assuming pony has been NCPA registered by then) 77 ® Lead Rein 78 ® First Ridden BSPS Bright Stars 79 Bright Stars lead rein 80 Bright Stars first pony Have I got all those right? Cerys doesn't qualify for tiny tots FR as she was 9 in October. We wouldn't do all 6 classes, so what are the advantages / disadvantages of each? Pony has already qualified for POYS with both jockeys and we're not interested in going to champs further afield. Any advice welcome

fayer - no for horses as well - RIHS quals for Hunters & other horse classes, cobs, hacks, RHs etc
Just like BSPS, PUK & NPS - the names say ponies but we all cater for horses too!

nici - pony/rider does not have to members of BSPS or have height cert to do the show
Classes 66 & 67 will be ideal - obviously no cantering in LR (!) & 67 has no group canter, but usually do a canter in individual show (no problem if child doesn't feel up to doing one, but it would be reflected in the placing)
Likewise classes 77 & 78 (but needs NCPA registration) & 79 & 80
If not doing all 6 then you can only qualify for NCPA registered at NCPA run shows so you may not have qualified for those classes 77 & 78 (pink qualification card) so would perhaps suggest them over the Bright Stars & probably pony can do the others too.
LR SHP are quite fun classes as they have a few "rural obstacle" to negotiate eg walk through jump wings, step over rustic pole, touch a gate, bend through plants etc so I would also suggest this BSPS class (66)
Hope this helps
