Looks to me like there will be a clash at RIHS as the 15shp and the junior riders are on at the same time. I know of at least 3 jockeys who this will affect. Anybody else noticed?

I think there is normally a clash between the MM Junior and the SHP isn't there? I'm fairly sure a friend of ours has always concentrated on the SHP as they know they can't do both - may be wrong as we've never been lucky enough to qualify!

I thought there was normally a clash. Though it usually works out that the 15hh clash with the youngest junior class- so not many affected as it's older riders in the 15hh. I suppose they do their best to fit everything in. The m&ms now have 3 sections to compete in, so better it clashes with them that the intermediates say.

Given the cost of qualifiers, affiliation and actually getting to Hickstead, I would hope they will look at altering the running order or holding some of the classes to not before times....seems unfair that once again those with deep pockets will be the only ones that can compete in both classes as some will have to choose which class to enter , which then has the knock on effect to kids who were second and didnt qualify who MAY of been able to compete but wont as those who did qualify only enter say the shp class due to a clash.....Im going to ring the societies....anybody else want to show support?

Puk young riders would be better on the Thursday, no other pony classes that day so no clashes!

I didn't realise about the clash until I'd qualified both my classes and then found out my daughter would only be able to ride one of them. Seems such a shame. Now we have to try to decide which one to do!

Now we have to try to decide which one to do! problem is , you add up how much it cost to qualify in the first place,,,,surely you shouldnt have to choose which class to compete in ?

That's very true. We shouldn't have to choose. Or we were thinking who could ride one of the ponies. But we didn't set out to qualify them for someone else to ride. It's a shame. My shp is only young and if I'd realised this before doing the qualifier I may as well left it and he could have done the restricted classes at the summer champs.
