Does anyone have a good experience of something to give a pony some sparkle? Our coloured pony completely lacks energy at home and in the ring. She is definitely not overshown/overschooled/bored, she just is very set in her ways and refuses to open up more when she is very capable of it. She is currently fed corn and this still hasn't made a difference. It's really holding her back in the ring as we would like to contest bigger classes with her but judges comments are always the same - that she lacks impulsion. Her way of going has even been likened to a first ridden. Any tips?

I had a similar problem with my connie. EnerG by Naf has made a difference to her, fed as a liquid supplement and a syringe shot an hour before a class. She's also fed a balancer.
I've also fed an endurance mix in the past to give slow release energy.

Is she actually getting enough work to increase her stamina levels - hacking/steady trotting/hill/canter work? All the supplements in the world won't necessarily make any difference, but being fitter will.

Thanks, will look into those things. And re the fitness, yes she is reasonably fit now but even when at peak fitness she was the same.
