Thought I had read something about the contract with EoE ending this year so it may be moving - could have got it wrong?!

Stoneleigh was mentioned but that may have been wishful thinking from someone who had competed there!

Apparently this was the last year subsidised by EoE as the EoE show no longer exists
We heard at equifest they where looking into alternative venues as now will have to hire peterborough like anyone else. Just as we got told that next year price hikes could happen to cover the extra cost of not being subaidised anymore such as additional memberships/horse registration needed

Just to set the record straight...! Equifest is owned and run by the East of England Agricultural Society so it is extremely unlikely that it will be held elsewhere in the country. All of the staff who organise Equifest are also employed by the East of England. We have no plans of ever having horse registrations, as we are not a Breed Society and although there may have to be some small price increases for 2014 we will keep them as low as possible. Although Equifest is run by the East of England Agricultural Society we still have to pay commercial prices for everything - accommodation, food, security, paramedics, electricity, stabling etc and so any price increases will only be to cover the increases that we have to pay.

Those who have competed at Equifest from the very start will know that it is owned and run by EofE and why on earth would they chuck out their own baby? Thanks Betsy for nipping this ridiculous rumour in the bud .... we are looking forward to Equifest 2014

Not directed at you dancer, I merely ment that it was good that Betsy had promptly answered and therefore stopped any rumours starting, by those that half read something and then spread the wrong information. No offence intended.
