Samantha Osborne's Steveys Lad sadly died today in a tragic accident on the m5, on his journey home from from an amazing day at HOYS. Such a tragic loss of a beautiful horse. Samantha has been so brave, I dont know what id do if this ever happened to me. RIP Stevey xxx

that news link is from a crash LAST year - not the one that tragically happened on the way home from HOYS today.

So sad, can't even come close to what is going through Samanthas and Donna's minds, to be on such a high after doing so well earlier at HOYS to then losing their best friend is so sad to see. Anyone who knows Samantha or has her on Facebook can see that she worshipped the ground he walked on, was a beautiful horse and they were a perfect combination, Sent lots of kisses and hugs to them both so sad xxxxxx

The crash involved 2 horseboxes near the Clevedon junction of M5 . One box went up over the other . On a particularly dangerous part of the motorway where 4 lanes drop to 3 and it is elevated above the northbound side. ( I know it well). Seems 2 other horses were injured. Very, very sad.

RIP STEVEY!xxx  The horse didn't belong to Samantha, she just used to ride him, his owner is called Donna. I can't even imagine what she is going through and she is very lucky to have not been seriously hurt in the accident too - RIP Stevey and thoughts to all concerned |

yes I do know he belonged to donna, but she used to own him didnt she? I don't think Samantha has ever owned him but has been a major part in his retraning and life in general. No matter who owns him I think it's pretty safe to say he was loved and will be missed by many :-) |

Agree with 09rebel99 doesn't mater who owned him he was a very loved horse my thoughts and preyers go out to everybody involved :-(

yes I do know he belonged to donna, but she used to own him didnt she? He was owned by Phillip Kirby Racing but Samantha rode him for the season before the racing yard sold him - hard to believe hes not around now after such a good day at HOYS on Sunday :-( |
