We use them for all our showing attire and browbands and have never had anything to complain about, we find them very helpful, professional and nothing seems to big of an ask for them, we wouldn't use anyone else.

I appreciate they can't behave this way with all of there customers or they wouldn't have a business!! I'm just passing on my experiences...

I had mixed experiences with them, I absolutely adored my first two jackets from them, I was so upset when I grew. I've finished growing now, and ordered a made to measure jacket, which took over 3 weeks, and didn't fit when it came, none of the measurements where what I asked ( they where writen down) the jacket was way to short and to big on the waist, I took it to richard with the invoice with his written measurements and he wouldn't do anything, I'm now stuck with a jacket that doesn't fit properly but I love the tweed!

There's no excuse for that. I would be going to Trading Standards if I had that experience.

It was last summer, and I just took it because I had nothing else.

very strange - all the varying opinions. We ordered a jacket for my daughter and Hillary was absolutely brilliant. She bent over backwards to accommodate her. This was after we had orderd a custom made jacket from Beau Cheval which, when it arrived was absolutely awful. The pattern didn't match, one of the pockets was stitched to the inside him and one side of the jacket at the back was lower than the other. It was absolutely dreadful!! Saying that, I think we were just unlucky and it was just a one off. They were brilliant and took it back right away and I accepted it as a 'bad experience.' My daughter's one from SS was absolutely lovely and my grandaughter has always worn SS and we have never had as much as a stitch come undone. The quality is evident and many people have stopped to ask who made it. Horses for courses I guess. Both do lovely stuff.

I am finding it interesting that nobody has mentioned Mrs Candy we had one fab jacket from there and one awful, they didn't want to know when I complained , it got wet and the material grew lumps , shrunk in places and didn't fit, they said it was our fault as it wasn't really made to get wet. I said well no disrespect but when you are showing at some point you will get wet. She did say I cud try ironing it which I did but this didn't work so new jacket needed , but it wont be from them.

When purchasing something it should be "fit for purpose". Made to measure should be to the measurements taken. I recently found out that Trading Standards consider that big appliances should last 6 years, so I will not be buying expensive warranties! Personally I would follow the trading standards route or take any cf the companies mentioned to the small claims court if a made to measure jacket was not correct. Or if the material failed. There is no excuse for bad standards.

I read this after just ordering my daughters second jacket from Showing Selection and thought "omg I hope it arrives ok" well said jacket has arrived as promised and fits absolutely perfectly ( we had requested many alterations the length, length of sleeve, sleeves taken in, darts taken in) and my daughter is 100% chuffed to bits with it. We were contacted to say it had arrived and could we pay the balance, then it went to be altered then another phone call to say it was on its way, then a day later here it is. Like I said this is our second jacket from Showing Selection and again 100% satisfied.

I have had a new jacket from showing selection each season for my daughter from when she was three and she is now fourteen. Just had another one arrive today which fits perfectly and had great service. Only ever had one which wasn't right and Hilary dealt with it with out any problem. The cut of their jackets just fit my daughter perfectly where some of the cuts of the other makes are just not right.

I visited their stand at HOYS, tried on some jackets Hilary took some measurements and noted the code of the cloth my daughter had fallen in love with. I knew I had left it late but I emailed Showing Selection on 3rd Dec asking for a jacket to be made for Christmas, they could not have been more helpful, they waited for my call the next day with my payment and said even though they were closing before the jacket had been made they would ensure that the dress maker sent it direct to me, Hilary rang me several times to ask what colour lining I wanted, where I wanted the velvet etc, it arrived perfectly pressed and beautifully wrapped. They said that if it needed slight alterations then send it back after the new year and they would do it for me. Highly recommended it fitted perfectly. I can highly recommend them.

had a Bad experience from Showing Selection, Having always had second hand ones that don't really fit, my mum said she would like to buy me one for Chrsitmas. So at HOYS after a good look round, I selected a tweed from SS, Richard measured me up, paid £200 deposit by Credit card. My Receipt was marked as £150 deposit received. I had to ask for him to alter it. Several weeks later Hilary phoned me at work to say the measurements don't seem right, she suggests altering them, and will be responsible for any mistakes, as they didn't seem proportionate. This week I received a call saying the tweed is ready, and balance of £100 to pay, THis didn't sound right so I called back today to be spoken to by Richard. I explained I had the receipt in front of me, and the balance was £73.95. At that point Richard said I was right, but then £10 P&P to be added- of which at NO point was this mentioned or discussed. HAd it have been it wouldn't have been a problem, but the fact it wasn't, and where the P&P section on the order form is NOTHING is written. They are going to Aus tomorrow for 4 weeks, so I said I would have to take advise and get back to them when they get home. We have an Equestrian Shop, and a friend came in and said they are notorious for getting measurements wrong, then refusing to refund/make right. So im a little worried, as Richard took the initial measurements, Hilary has altered them not knowing me or seen me, and they clearly are going to be difficult. Going to contact Trading Standards, and visit C.A.B, If anyone would like to PM me in confidence with any problems so I can present it.

Slightly off topic, I have read with interest comments about a person "having a sense if humour", "being a character" and worst if all, "does not suffer fools!" Anyone who does not suffer fools needs to learn tolerance and understanding. Why should any of these traits make rudeness acceptable? Rant over! Feel for the OP...a lot of money wasted.

We had a similar issue with measurements that I gave over the phone - I needed a jacket made shorter than their 'standard' sizing & was repeatedly questioned over whether the details were correct as they didn't believe me! The jacket arrived & is a perfect fit - I wouldn't have minded if I'd felt they were trying to help me avoid making a mistake & losing money but that wasn't the impression given by their tone

When my daughter was small she had a "tummy" and needed a meade to measure jacket. Richard was rude abrupt and told my daughter that she shouldnt be riding a pony because the picture"wasnt good!!!" Dont know how he managed to stay in business as this was about fifteen years ago!!
