"Unfortunately Veteran Horse Showing Limited have not secured the 2014 Grand Final at The London International Horse Show, Olympia.
Veteran Horse Showing Limited will not be running a 2014 Showing and Dressage Series.
We would like to stress that Veteran Horse Showing Limited will honour our commitment for the Olympia Grand Final this year so all competitors need not worry”
thats a shame was looking forward to showing our old boys again next year

Not sure what all this means but we were planning on showing our C Stallion in veterans next year so hoping this is still for ponies and not just a dressage series. Not sure that dressage is his thing! Will you need to join the HPSS or SSADL? We were really looking forward to giving him something to do!

Chloesmum no you don't need to join the HPSS to compete in the veteran classes, yes it open to horses and ponies over 15 yrs old and only hope produced people and it will still be at Olympia 2014 for the final. The SSADL will have a website up and running in the next few days as it is nt part of HPSS

You need to join the group called "Veteran Horse Society" on FB Julianne who runs the VHS is releasing a statement tomorrow she is talking to her legal team at the moment it says, the team who worked for and with her have decided to go it alone after Olympia hence this new society, series (SSADL) which has appeared today which has nothing to do with the VHS from what I gather will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings x

Yes it is the team that currently running the VHS Showing as CLare frost was in charge of that and is now starting this SSADL. According to the post from Julianne says that they want to take the VHS back to grass roots level rather than elite horses, What I find weird is people complaing that the new series is home produced the VHS one was also HP but the rules got bent

That's all fine and dandy, but they have just made an easy situation complicated as hell! The "home produced" is going to open up a right can of worms. How confusing??

I know the VHS was always "home produced" but I for one struggle to see why this is a necessary rule. The point of having classes for Veterans is to enable the horses and ponies to compete against animals of a similar age ( hence its all about the animal) What classes can the animals who have been on the same yard throughout their career and not ready to retire do? I hope I don't offend anyone but this is something that has puzzled me for a long time and I feel it's unfair to those horses and those who don't bend the rules.
