my pony has qualified picton am i right in thinking that if we don't do the final at this year champs he can still do novice next year, hes only 5 and first year out under saddle he has also qualified 5 year old class,hp young pony, junior ridden and hp junior ridden which i think will be better for him this year,i just feel he would be better having another go at qualifying next year when hes a bit more establish just wanted to check this is correct before missing it this year

As long as he has not been entered for the final you can do it the next year.

Thank you for pointing that out very handy to know as we are entered in a m&m class at local county show and it's a ringside open qualifier wouldn't of normal done a open class but it was the only ridden class

Ditto, I hadn't realised that the Dalgarvel YHclasses were classed as an open. Luckily had planned to do final this year, and qual Picton first ;-)
