I can see the point of view from both sides however have planes fly over at a county show is different to what the ponies would get at home. If worked the ponies at home the planes fly over and are gone, however the red arrows fly over repeated several times which is why I feel it is unfair to competitors and the ponies being expected to deal with it. We compete at a few county shows and I don't mind all the buzz tractors etc but I feel Lincoln are now starting to ignore health and safety having air displays whilst horses are being rode, if one of the FR jockeys were seriously injured they would have a whole different issue to deal with. I feel that they need to act responsibly before someone is hurt.

For as long as I can remember the red arrows and the bomber have been part of Lincolnshire show , let's not forget a county show is not just for us horsey people a lot of spectators come to see everything but the horses ! They were plenty of announcements about the fly over which I heard in the lorry park , yes they should of stood down the rings within plenty of time because there was a delay with them coming over

There was no warning of the Dakota and the first ridden ring was not stood down. The judges and stewards were as surprised as anyone else. I have attended this show for four years and usually I think the air displays are dealt with well but this was different. During the same class the ring was stood down for the parachutists and the ponies were all fine. If the ring had been stood down for the Dakota it would have been a different story.

Totally agree - no warning whatsoever. Last year the lr shp stood down for half hour - red arrows were well announced but absolutely nothing for the Dakota which was so low as well.
