Having read this somewhere on here before, i know im not alone in this. Why do some shows place to 6th and others to 10th in quals? Can we please try and make it a rule that they must place to tenth, surely this isnt much to ask? On average its probably around £40 to enter, so for 4 more rosettes this isnt a big ask, but it is a big deal to some (including me) , i have missed out 4 times this year by being in the top ten but not getting a rosette, im proud to of been in the top ten, but for all the money spent by competitors, shows can surely stretch to a few more rosettes, a few shows have also changed from placing to tenth in previous years, to now only placing to 6th. It may seem like a little thing to some, but to of been placed in an open hoys class is a very big deal to people like me

We were placed 7th in hoys qualifier. In schedule it stated rosettes to 10th and they only gave up to 6th. My jockey was very disappointed so I marched off, with schedule in hand, to the secretary and got her 7th rosette. She was called out 7th and even did a lap of honour but with no rosette!

I quite agree that in HOYS qualifiers, rosettes should be awarded to 10th place. The Cherif Championship is the last qualifier for the new Part bred class, and they are awarding rosettes down to 10th.
