Puk move summer champs date and venue! Shame I liked Stoneleigh but date in July might be better as makes it easier not to have them all in August

I have heard there MAY, be a show at Stoneleigh 2nd weekend of August which may hold the HOYS qualifiers but don't know any info. This might be what prompted the PUK move.

Well I just wish they would all get on with telling us what is happening when and where the qualifiers are and who is judging. I have to tell my non horsey husband the whole 2015 summer schedule by next weekend so he can plan his annual leave. Agh!!!

Most of the dates are out for the summer shows just waiting on hoys to give the list out,
North of England shows have announced their dates and hoys qualifiers

TSR is running its summer Gala show on the normal weekend 18th and 19th July at Onley. We can confirm that the final selection for the TSR HOYS Masterclass will be held over the Gala Show weekend.

Very sad news about PUK. can they survive without the HOYS qualifiers at the summer champs. I have seen the summer champs get smaller and smaller over the years,we used to go all week as our summer hols and had a fab time, I hope they can do something to rejuvenate PUK before it is too late

I don't think puk will survive without the hoys qualifiers, which is a shame as I love the show but when we have a busy season can we afford to go to a show where there are no qualifiers?

We also used to spend a week at PUK in the old Peterborough days and remember the fantastic evening performances and packed classes - but sadly since the move to Newark & Notts it has been in decline. I personally think there is a place for shows without HOYS qualifiers but as Equifest has so successfully cornered the Championship show for everyone market I also wonder if PUK will survive as a Championship show. The team are really good though at 'reinventing' and I wait to see what their new Champs holds - I think it is already a good move changing dates but again end of July can be really busy, no easy answer but Good Luck to the PUK team.

I have really enjoyed spectating at PUK summer champs the last two years but I suppose the lack of an indoor is part of the reasoning for the move especially after this year's rain. The new venue is not as special as the existing one INHO but is more practical and therefore may attract more people despite the missing HOYS classes

There is another show at stoneleigh the same time as equifest in 2015. One can only assume that they needed the dates to set up for the show at stoneleigh

It is a shame that PUK won't have any HOYS qualifier classes for their summer championship show. The biggest classes this year were the HOYS classes. I went to a show at Bury Farm last year and from the North West it's a trek, so from Scotland, South East and West of England it's a MEGA trek! I think the numbers will be down again unless competitors from the midlands and south use the show as a warm up for the Royal International 28 July - 2 August 2015.
I just wonder what will happen to their membership numbers/fees? If the venue is too far for so many people and the only qualifiers they have are the RI classes M&M junior/amateur riders will these classes diminish?
P(UK) have been very good at reinventing, however, without serious qualifiers I fear the membership numbers will be down. We are P(UK) members but sadly I don't think we will renew membership next year, as we would try and qualify for the championship classes but there will be no point if we don't want to travel so far for the summer show.
