I think marks would be fairer as how anyone can remember top 10 ponies out of 47 ,is almost impossible. There were some fabulous ponies who never put a foot wrong but never got a look in as the top 8 were picked from the 10 picked first. At least with marks maybe 1 or 2 may have moved up,and maybe 10 places out of 47 would have been nice. The ponies were all gorgeous and not many put a foot wrong. It was a fantastic sight to see so many together.

Snappy Croc we were in the large hairy pony class and a girl that wasn't in the top ten placings was moved right up to be placed however I do agree at the champs like this I think they should have marks. I'm a lowly nobody who was at the ri for the first time with my home produced pony and would quite like to know where I faired in the whole line up. Without the marks we are all number maker uppers

To be fair, the judges did make private notes / marks themselves, just as competitors we couldn't see them. A lot of horses and ponies moved around a lot in the final reckonings so judges were rewarding very good show sand conformation
Personally I'd like to see placings to 10 or 12 as the classes are so huge, am I right in thinking some pony classes go to 10?
