I have a pony who had a large flat sarcoid above his eye, have been using SARC X powder and cream and in the beginning used Zovirax as well , it is now tiny but has taken 3 yrs to get to this state, now do not treat very often as under forelock and you can't see it

I'm wary of the temptation to want to believe that the treatment works but I'm also not inclined to think that, as with the pony above, the pony's own immune system just suddenly kicked in entirely of its own accord at the very moment I decided to start treatment. The lady that sells the herbs has a similar view - she thinks they are viral and the herbs she provides clean out the pony's immune system and give it a kick start. It will be interesting to see if they work, but I may try thuja if I have no success.

I am a member but posting anonymously as I really don't want all and sundry knowing my business. I have a mare with a nodular sarcoid and the vet is suggesting a few different treatments so I was wondering what people's experiences were with them. The sarcoid has come up quite quickly and is a large painless lump just behind her teats at the very top of one back leg. It's quite firm to touch but feels mobile with just the skin holding it in place if that makes sense. There is the Liverpool cream which he says would have to be put on a bandage and wrapped round the sarcoid. Blood root treatment Operation which would involve general anesthetic and the whole sarcoid may not be removed and would therefore require either Liverpool cream afterwards or freezing treatment Some success stories would be good, particularly if you have experience of a similar sounding sarcoid that has appeared quickly

I’ve just bought a young horse that had a very large sarcoid just near his sheath. It was the size of a medium horse chestnut and similar in shape. Because I didn’t have my normal veterinary box handy, I wanted to put something on it that would be antibacterial and help stop the flies. The only available product I had was Stockholm Tar. I reckon that it couldn’t do any harm. Well, to my complete surprise when I came to see him the following day the sarcoid was hanging off and by the end of the day it has completely fallen off. This is not something I’ve ever heard about but I googled it and I found a random piece photographed from an Australian farming magazine that quoted a farmer saying that he successfully uses stockholm tar as failsafe remedy for warts and mange in cattle. thought I would pass it on, always worth a try!
