Heartbreaking sale, but I feel the time is right to let this fabulous pony go to a new home and give someone else as much pleasure as he has given me.
Approx 13hh 12 year old gelding. Excellent breeding ( half brother to Carrock I'm Yer Man and Carrock Elsa ). He has been successfully shown at local and county level with many championships under his belt. He is always placed at breed shows. He hasn't been shown much over the past few years due to concentrating on my younger fell. Has been doing dressage the last few years and never scores below 65%.
Carrick is a pleasure to do in all ways .Loads and travels perfect in a trailer or wagon. I travel and take him everywhere on my own and he is no bother at all. Good to shoe, clip bath etc.
He hacks out alone or in company. I mainly hack out on my own, but he doesn't heat up in company and will happily go first or last. His only downside is that he can occasionally be spooky and nappy. As long as you ride him forward he is fine. Due to this he is not a complete novice ride. He loves pleasure rides, I just don't have the time to do enough with him.
He takes little / no working in at shows, and doesn't heat up in the go round. Will happily stand in the line up on a loose rein. He is completely home produced. Ridden in a snaffle at all times.
He does enjoy popping the odd fence, but I don't have the confidence to jump so he hasn't done much.
This is an extremely hard decision, having had him 9 years, but I feel the time is right to let him give someone else as much pleasure as he has given me.
Would suit a young rider coming off small breeds, or equally an older rider. He will only be sold to the right home and I don't want to see him out showing every week. He enjoys a varied life of hacking, schooling, lunging, occasional shows, dressage etc.
