We believed we had found pony of a lifetime, qualified for HOYS twice for this year in shp, absolutely fab in everyway. On vetting we have been told has a sarcoid (we believed it was a wart and had seen it) after a lot of Internet research I think we have to walk away, just wondered what anyone elses experience was, pony only 5,
thanks

I bought a pony with several. He was perfect for my child but for the sarcoids. Took pics and showed vet and he was hopeful they could be removed. Get your vets opinion. Good luck.

With out a doubt I would buy a pony with a sarcoid ! And I have done both ponies I have brought with sarcoids have turned out to be the most fantastic ponies and scaroids have caused no problems

It would depend on where it was,how big it was and how expensive the pony was.Crest toothpaste(or similar high % flouride)has been used by friends and the sarcoids have disappeared. If the pony is just what you were looking for and has no other issues and the price is negotiable I would be inclined to go for it.

When we spoke to our vet he said could operate looking at around £800 to do this although no guarantees won't grow back and more may grow back. When we viewed pony we thought it was a wart and the owner has banded it howver when we had vetted on Friday it has not yet dropped off although vetting vet said it would very soon but was likely to grow back but more aggressively although no guarantees. Our concern is when we need to sell on in two years as daughter will be out of class we will be able to sell? And Wont be able to insure ....

One of my youngsters had a massive sarcoid as a rising 3yo. It was banded, fell off and hasn't had an issue since (now a 5yo).

Would definitely but - had horses with them and successfully treated either with banding or with Liverpool cream. Would strongly recommend against laser - extremely painful and awful scarring.
