Gellihaf Siriol - Haf - pronounced Harve for those who don’t speak Welsh - is a 10 yo registered Welsh C mare. Chestnut with 3 whites and a blaze , she stands around 13h (not measured).
Haf was a late starter as a ridden pony, following a period doing in hand showing and as a broodmare. She is a forward going and responsive ride, ridden mainly by children (11/12 yo). She is still quite green in her schooling and would benefit from work in this area, but is a safe ride, snaffle mouthed at all times, even on the hunting field.
Haf has been hunted regularly by my daughter and her friend with the Cheshire Bloodhounds (several times last season and twice on hound exercise this season so far) , and has also been to the beach, XC schooling and fun rides. She has a scopey jump and could make a lovely WHP with further schooling.
Haf has been on loan for the past 8 months, however her rider is giving up for personal reasons. I am now offering Haf for sale, ideally to a PC/hunting type home, where she will continue to have fun doing a variety of activities.
Haf is an ideal mother/daughter share, although she does have big Welsh movement that may not be ideal for a younger child. Given her level of schooling she would shine in an experienced home, with a rider capable of developing her in that area. Or she could continue in a hacking / fun rides / hunting home as now.
Haf is a gentle, loving mare, good to handle on the ground as well as to ride. She is groomed, bathed etc by children, loads easily into a horse box (I haven’t tried her in a trailer but her previous owners travelled her fine in a trailer), good with the farrier - she has excellent feet and has always been barefoot with us, even when hunting weekly.
Haf’s loan period ends at the end of October. She will be kept in work until then, however my daughter has two other ponies to ride, and with the lack of evening light after this month she will not have time to ride another pony through the winter. I am therefore pricing Haf for a quick sale this month, otherwise she will be turned away over winter and brought back into work next spring. It would be a shame for someone to miss out on a winter’s fun on this fab pony!
£2000 ono - good home a priority!
