What are the recommended feeds out there for welsh ponies who really don't need to gain weight but be kept in show condition

A suitable balancer for that "bright eyed and bushy tailed" look of perfect health with fibre and oil based feed as needed to keep the weight as desired.

Your choice, but I've always used Top Spec. I'm sure as long as you choose a good quality company their balancers will be appropriate.

Apologies for jumping in on the OP but I have a similar question. I think our Section C does need to put a little more weight/condition on but don't want to give her anything that will whizz her up! Any suggestions welcome, please x

Think fibre and oil. Alfalfa instead of straw based chaffs and an oil product, micronised linseed or Equijewel, or even good old cooking oil.

Im using Top spec lite chop and their lite balancer. That along side plenty of long and low lunging has given my boy the most stunning top line!! And his crappy, run in with a hedge cutter, clipped winter coat is giving in to a shiny summer coat already! I also used a good dollop on linseed, but ill be cutting that right back now, as I don't want him any fatter!
