Hi
I would like to put a little more weight on him without too much fizz as hes only on a few hours turnout a day at the moment. He is currently on 1 scoop of stud cubes a day with ad lib hay/haylage mix. Could I add speedi beet without causing damage? I don't want to over feed him and cause growth issues and I intend to keep him entire.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a balancer? And/or some oil added to his feed? I have fed youngstock speedibeet with no adverse effects.

I haven't yet, I have literally had him for 4 days and it is the first yearling I have had, before I have bought at 3 years old, so I don't want to get it wrong so want to be sure ! Is there a balancer you would recommend? I might add a little speedi beet for him tonight then, thanks!

I'm sure it won't do him any damage.
Check by the weights of yearling and scoop if you are giving him the recommended amount of stud cubes, if that's your chosen feed, if less he would need a balancer to up the amount of essential micronutrients which only thee recommended amount of cubes would provide for him. You could always have a chat with a few of the feed company nutritionists for their thoughts.

Thank you Sarahp, I have messaged a few feed companies but they always recommend their own (obviously) so I just wanted to see what people use/prefer too. I will have a look at the bag this evening and see.
Thanks!

That's why I suggested a few, then you can sort out the substance of what they say rather than taking individual products.

Ive decided just to slightly cut down his stud cubes and add some top spec alfa chop! He loves it and so far he seems to be really thriving from it and the extra grass coming through. I have been putting in LOTS of elbow grease to get rid of his fluffy baby winter coat and hopefully if the first bath this weekend is successful he will really start looking handsome
