I look after a friend's 28 year old horse which has been on a low dose of equipalazone for several years as he has a touch of arthritis. She's now been told that they won't issue a prescription without him being micro chipped. Apparently it's EU regulations!!!!!!! He had a Passport issued in 2004 but that's not enough. Has anybody else come up against this?

Yes, I think there is a legal requirement.

They have to protect themselves by following the law, not a big deal to get him chipped, surely?

it is only a legal requirement for those horses applying for a passport after 2009 ,,, those passported before that do not have to have a microchip,,,sx
