I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem with this on their bit*hes. I have a cocker spaniel who has recently had "little visitors" We are dealing with this via a range of different methods.. well basically all of them lol, the most successful is the use of a mite comb. I have had her on her back on my partners lap and the fleas have been around her private parts, however the problem she has is crustiness around the back 2 teats, it reminds me a little of mud fever and I have been treating it by gentley washing with liquid dove soap and cotton wool pads. This has been easing the "scabs" and also the massaging have disturbed more fleas... which have been quickly removed. I then rinse throughly. I have only been doing this for a couple of days and have seen an improvement, I do not want to be too rigerous as I do not want to make her sore. She will be going to the Vets next week for her jabs and I will be consulting them on it, however I thought I would ask on here in the meanwhile if anyone else had come accross this and if they knew what it was.
Many thanks

The skin around the teats is more sensitive even from fleas .... use good ole Vaseline, it will soothe/moisture them plus the fleas wont be able to feed from that area with it on xxx

Thank you. I will keep that tip in mind. I have now managed to eradicate it, and hopefully the fleas. The crustiness via the liquid soap masssage on a daily basis, also the fleas by using every means possible! She has had spot on, which did nt seem to make any difference, a spray, a collar but what has worked is the good old flea comb, and I intend to make it part of our daily routine from now on.
