Lovely sunny day at Onley and great to see show well supported. A few results: HOYS Sec C - Glynwyn Living Daylights - well done he went beautifully and was a well deserved winner. L/B - Becki Penny and the fabulous Schubert. Connie - not 100% sure but think it was Glencarrig Marble - apologies if I am wrong and congratulations if I am right! Pure Novice Finals - Champion Becki Penny with Sarah Parkers lovely connie and I think Katy MP was Reserve with a Fell? C/D winner our Jacob baby - Popsters Picasso - so chuffed with the baby boy, only his 3rd ever show so a true novice and he redeemed himself for banging in the lorry the whole way to show! A/B - the very beautiful Moelview Moonstruck such a good boy and lovely that Jane Jones from Moelview stud was there to watch him, again only his 3rd ever show under saddle. 2nd was Rowfantina Romeo - Mandy Burchalls lovely A stallion so great team works guys! These 2 changed places in the Novice Final with Romeo 1st and Moonstruck 2nd. Sam Roberts won the Novice C/D with Chestnut D Stallion; Connie was Champion Novice. Lovely day, such helpful stewards and officials - thank you to the hard working NPS folks.

Very enjoyable show at the new venue. Very busy with lots of entries, friendly helpful officials. Only downside being the obnoxious jobs-worth parking the lorries who upset quite a few competitors today.

OMG! that man was the rudest person ever! he actually caused chaos at one stage. We asked really nicely if we could move down next to a lorry as my mum gets asthma and gets chesty and he said NO. Why not i asked and he said because i said so and made us park approximately 12 lorries further up the field - and then parked the next lorry where we asked if we could go!! The rudest most arrogant person ever!! at one stage there were lorries everywhere as he was dictating where people had to go and i guess someone ignored him so he chased them and i saw him make them drive their lorry back up the field almost to the furthest point!! Annoying but how sad that he took such great pleasure in being a prat - not even a jobs worth! Bad for Onley as he for most was the first interaction of the people there!

I'm so glad to read lots of positive posts regarding the Spring Festival. Not only on HG, but also all over Facebook. The reaction is a real tonic for everyone who put in a lot of effort on a very hot day.
It is very sad though to have heard that the parking 'officials' were not very jolly and nice. Can I take this opportunity to say that they were supplied by Onley themselves and had nothing to do with the NPS Show Committee.
We obviously apologise for their conduct and I agree that this would not have been a good start for any competitor!!
Their actions were brought to the attention of the NPS Office and as soon as this information came to light the relevant 'in charge' person dealt with the situation.
I hope everyone had a lovely day and hopefully the same weather will be with us in August for Malvern!

Looking forward to Malvern for the summer champs and a much warmer reception. We all know the parking staff have a difficult task getting everyone parked safely but most shows manage to accommodate everyone with a little bit of give and take. Most have a smile and a bit of banter. If this person is a regular parking official at Onley he will soon put competitors off from going to the venue.

Posted too early, I have to say with regard to the parking officials, we were met by 2 very charming and helpful gentlemen, I believe their names were Nick and Andy, and our day got off to a happy and friendly start.
