Suggestions please - our coloured cob has not looked quite right in her coat all season - usually she just shines, but this year she seems to have lost her sparkle. She is up to date with worming, she has been blood tested to see if any underlying problems, teeth done, saddle done, back done, regularly shod, hacks out regularly, is a pleasing weight but is a good doer so we need to be careful. What can we do to improve her coat?

My first goto as a solution would be a good quality balancer, both Lite versions and some to suit laminitis prone ponies are available.

Saracen Shape up balancer - lives out apart from coming in during day for a few hours where she gets a small haynet.

Well that's that box ticked then! My others would be worming and teeth but you've done those too, I don't have any other suggestions, those were the simple ones. What if anything has changed in her management since last year, if she looked good then?

What if anything has changed in her management since last year, if she looked good then? Absolutely nothing that we can think of - lives in same field and same rider! She's 7, we've owned her since a yearling and can't pin anything as to why she just isn't quite as blooming as she should be! We did buy a foal last year, had an older mare came back from loan, but she knows her anyway as Jess was here when we bought floss. I'm beginning to wonder if she is being bullied by one of the others!

Seaweed is meant to be good for coat and linseed as well. Linseed is conditioning in higher quantities but if you feed a small amount it still helps with coat condition but doesn't add weight

You could add sunflower or vegetable oil to her diet if the seaweed does not work
