I have to say that putting up this sort of post is, IMO fuelling the fire for HOYS, we are not yet out of 2017.

I have to say that putting up this sort of post is, IMO fuelling the fire for HOYS, we are not yet out of 2017. I'd be inclined to disagree; I'm completely home produced with very few connections so it makes very little difference to me but for those who use producers and/or have numerous connections, having this information now enables them to choose a producer who isn't connected to the judge of their section or not bother at all if they themselves have a connection. Money's short for everyone so there's absolutely no point in chasing a qualifier if you're not able to compete in the final. Sent from my SM-A300FU using proboards

Showing is not just about competing at HOYS Absolutely agree but amateurs and professionals alike are making plans for next year so no point looking at qualifiers if you can't compete at the final. This information could potentially change a person's direction for the whole season.

Showing is not just about competing at HOYS You're absolutely right. However, all annual shows start the planning for the next one immediately after the previous show concludes and hoys is no exception. As part of that planning, judges have been appointed and they have publicised it. What's wrong with that? Would you have the same issues if an agricultural show released their schedule for next year, complete with judge appointments? Hoys in particular have to release these early as judges for the finals are limited to what other judging appointments and exhibiting they can undertake. This has a knock on effect to qualifying shows appointing judges who will be well on their way with planning their shows for next year. Sent from my SM-A300FU using proboards

We have just got over all the nasty posts regarding HOYS 2017! I do understand about planning for the next season, especially regarding sorting out judges for other shows, but did it have to be put on here?

Well this is a forum that spreads information , points of interest and often fake news ! I was only trying to be helpful. I know several exhibitors who normally do the hoys circuit who now know they cant.
I have a young horse and looking forward to going to a few small agricultural shows.

Gillwales there's only yourself making a fuss. The mods set up a Showing Register chat section and therefore the Showing register have every right to post items relating to their society on their own part of the forum!!

Please correct me if I am wrong Mods, but The Showing Register is just another member, they do not have their own section.

Please correct me if I am wrong Mods, but The Showing Register is just another member, they do not have their own section. The Showing Register along with many other societies has a sub board within the "Chat About Forthcoming Events" section. This is what I am referring to.

We may not get there ever again, it was probably our once in a lifetime for us a couple of years ago, but I’m grateful to be able to plan ahead just in case.
I wish the RI Judges were released by hickstead, again we may not get there but I’d like to know what we can or can’t aim for. I’m a total nobody, but we have a few judges we can’t go under with each of the horses due to their backgrounds rather than mine.
