So 4 months ago I said I hope we're not in for a bad winter. Having seen snow pretty much every week since the end of November I think we can say it was a bad one. And it's not over yet, we are snowed in again!

We have only had a light splattering of snow here in Carmarthenshire. I do feel for ll of you who have to cart water and food around for your animals

Lots of snow last night . The ponies are fine but we're supposed to be running the Liverpool Half Marathon next Sunday with our first triathlon of the season two weeks after that , and this weather is playing havoc with my training .I'm supposed to be on a 10 mile training run today and that's not going to happen . Gutted ! ( And I NEVER thought I'd hear myself say that !! ). It's not so much the snow as the freezing gale force wind .

I hope the weather clears up so you can continue your training, good luck with your next race.

I do have a terrible confession to make .... Please find it in your hearts to forgive me - but I now own an actual padded-gusset-spray-on-lycra-cycling-onsie . I know , I know , I hate myself for it too but , aside from the fact that it makes me look like a badly stuffed black pudding , it really does do the job in the comfort department .And I promise that I still show consideration for other road users . They could pick me for team GB ( granted - highly unlikely ) but nonetheless one thing is for certain gillwales - I still loathe and despise The Flange and I will NEVER be one of their number !

Well I'll tell you one thing I've discovered , now that I have a foot in both camps , so to speak , - us horsey folks are streets ahead of the cyclists when it comes to hi-vis clothing . Having trawled around numerous shops in the quest for my ideal onesie , I quickly came to realise that the colour of choice for the vast majority of cycists would appear to be " Tarmac " . " I suppose it's flattering " mused one assistant , when asked ' Why ?'. " Not so much when it's splattered across someones windscreen " was my response . These people seem to have no concept of their own vulnerability - but then again that seems to be the general arrogance of the average cyclist does it not ? And , FYI , I am not clad in green . I grace the lanes of Lancashire in a gossamer-like grey and shocking pink Pearl Isumu cycle suit made ( apparently ) from wisps of silken cobweb collected at dawn and stitched together with fawns eyelashes . Topped off with a bl**dy great flourescent pink safety vest covered in flashing lights . You would know me if you saw me .
