As of the first of January the JMB are bringing in random dope testing surely a small step in the right direction with so many over height animals. Although i see the only real impact being if they are done more regularly than the random dope testing that societies carry out

That's a good start . Wonder what would happen if they gave the person conducting the measuring the power to test a pony if they suspected foul play ie I'm pretty sure most people could spot the difference between a calm , laid back pony and one in a glassy - eyed stupor !

My Vet who was the official measurer for the JMB in this area, refused to measure one he considered had been doped, he was a bit of a one off and I do not see many doing the same, he even offered to take a blood test when the owner objected; they soon loaded up and went away!

If you read the H&H article vets that suspected animals where dope for measurement already had the right to take a blood sample. I think the fact that anyone could now just randomly be tested will hopefully make people think twice
